These figures largely blow away the Unimax Bravo Team Army figures. I love the articulation and all the removable gear. These are highly versatile figures!

I'd like to here some of the on-line retailers chime in on these. Will we be seeing this line at Smalljoes or Badcat?

With the exception of the extra long legs and the bulkiness of the armor, the figures are really good. I'm impressed.

We'll be getting them. Have some samples on the way and manufacturer is interested in working with us on it. I was planning on waiting for the samples to commit to an order but you guys seem very pleased with the ones you found on eBay, so it looks like it will be a 'go' for us.

yeah that's something that needs to be addressed in future releases. Maybe include 2 heads, one without glasses or just leave them off.

In the meantime, head swappers r us.

meh , im not sold on them yet. i would like to see a comparison side by side with a bravo team fig. i have a couple unimax figs and i think they rock. i love how much stowage and accesories they come with and they look more detailed than these guys imo. i would like to see more before i commit. it is nice to see new figs in 1 18th though.

Figure Review and Pics

Post by C130IM » Sun Mar 28, 2010 7:59 pm

Hey everyone. Pictures not as good as I'd like but give you a good idea of what the figures look like. I don't regret getting them and feel they are an excellent addition to 1/18 modern military line. I don't think anyone who buys these will regret it.

These are pics of the 7 figures currently available from Tieka Toys. Next I do need to put up a comparison shot with FoV and BBi figure.

Consistent theme regarding all the figures:

1. Removable helmets, vests, backpack, knee pads
2. Excellent articulation
3. No loose joints so far
4. Not much in line of accessories; rifle, pack, stand, knee pads. (only 2 come with 1 extra weapon).
5. Weapons appear a tad big but not big a deal.
6. All have stands
7. Facial detail is okay; not up to par with others like FoV or BBi. But, not bad considering this is their first product launch. The sunglasses are molded to face on each figure. The heads are on ball joints so I think head swapping is possiblity.
8. Minor observation; they stand well without falling even when posed; I have not needed the stands.

On to the pics. Some redudant (click thumbnail for closer look);

1. Anti Tank Figure

2. Medic Figure

3. Grenadier Figure

4. Radio Man Figure

5. SAM Figure

6. SAW Figure

7. Squad Leader

I can take more pictures just let me know. For some reason some of the duplicat views (SAM/Medic) did not download but you get an idea.

I still say for a start up company; these are still pretty descent figures. I agree that FoV/BBi figures have good detail. I think in time this company can improve on their product line. I have to give them kudos for detailing on the uniform and gear. Figure articulation is the biggest plus!!

Don't know yet, that will depend on how many we're willing to buy, freight costs from China, so forth. Should know more after the samples get here.

Can the heads come of and does the 25th/ME A.R.A.H. or R.O.C. G.I. Joe figures fit on them in good proportion? Please let us know.

So will PLA figures be available too, or are they just making US forces? And more importantly will they be available in the US? I think one of the shortcomings of the bbI and FOV lines was that there was no opposing force.
