1/18 custom panther

Post by gliderdwm » Sun Mar 14, 2010 7:32 pm

Some of us thought his last piece was definitely better. Well this one is just too much for the worse. Anybody have real pics of the stepping stone design which I suppose is zimmerit or something. I have done 1/6 scale zimmerit using aves epoxie sculpt and have seen nothing in the way of zimmerit applied like this. Again the price is way too much also.

He uses actual reference books to do his pieces. I've talked to him on numerous occasions. I think what happens is he is loosing some of the finer details in translation. Like the always controversial "polka dot" pattern. That was an actual pattern, but the dots weren't that big, at least in pictures i've seen, but there were dots.

The Zimmerit is very real though. I have a few books here with that type of pattern being used.

Great info Paul on zimmerit. Obviously I was uninformed. Looks like the Panther had a few different patterns other than the most widely used number 1.Vertical columns of horizontal ridges.
