Thanks guys it meens a lot.

I worked on the sidecar about a 1/2 of a day today. It looks like I will need a FULL DAY to get it wrapped up.

Progress picks.

Okay, PH - what is the total damage to get this configuration?
What type of MG did you use and did you modify it to fit the sidecar?

That MG looks, to me, like a Marauder Inc. MG34, which would be a great choice since it's easy to get ahold of for everyone.

Not to step on PH's toes, just figured I was guessing right on what it is.

Pickelhaube, the sidecar and wheels look great! The detail in the spokes is incredible. Let us know when when you want money. :)

I worked all day on the sidecar and have nothing to show for it.

I recessed the Mg mount into the bonnet and looked at some reference pics and saw that I needed to move it forward about a 1/4 inch or so. So I had to patch the recesses and move the mount forward and recess those. That my friends is moving in the wrong direction.

I made the wheel hubs and will probably cast those tomorrow.

I would say I need ANOTHER FULL DAY to finish.

The Mg came off of a 21st Panzer . It just has a single hole in it. I figured that will do. It will raise up and down but will not swing left to right.

I am cool with this . How about you guys?

Fly B.

The idea of the side car is to compliment the Indy bike . Almost everybody has one and hopefully this project will go with what they got. I could trick one out but by doing that , this project will double in price if not more. I was trying my best to keep this as cheap as possible.

That being said I think $30 may be a tad cheap. I am thinking $35 - $40 and I will include the Mg-34. Is this a deal breaker with you guys ?

The only way to include the detail (spokes ) is to cast the wheels in 2 pieces.

The piece count is up to about 20 parts so far and may go higher.

One more thing.
Are you guys wanting to use the original set pins to hold the wheels ?

I was thinking the Marauder gun because of the color but now that I look at it, I see the pretty big differences. Guess I wasn't being careful when I looked and was going off "Man is that awesome" and color. :D

I'd re-use the pins on the bike, just to save work PH. Just my opinion. The bike's "flawed" anyway, so I wouldn't try to make everything absolutely perfect. The pins being re-used would save time/work on your part I'm sure.

I'd pay up to $40 for the MG. I would prefer to use the original pins on the tires just to keep things as simple as possible. My goal is not to trash the Indy bike too much, but just enough to modify it for the sidecar.

I am not sure if the wheels I am using will even accomodate the Indy pins.

The Indy wheel axles are crazy thick and the pins go through them.

I will check out this situation

and get back with you.

Somebody stop me.

I can see $40 in the project. If so, I would take it plain Jane without the proposed extras.

Pickel, Dude jersey shore???????????? that show    :P ' ..... :P
Back on topic.... the wheels for the bike look fine. I'd go with a plastic dowel that would fit the wheel and the bikes front and back forks.
Looking Great!!!!!!!!

Well I was wrong about the axel pins. They work great with the new wheels. That is basicly what I did all day work on the wheels.

But I think it was worth it. It gives the Indy bike a whole new look. It looks German now.I think the only thing that needs to be done ( by you guys ) is thin out the forks and this thing will turn from toy to model

Alas I am not done. Maybe another day with fingers crossed.
