I read here somewhere that you should leave off the drop tank;that makes sense since this plane was for airfield defence, not long lange stuff.
My question is, should I take the bracket off too? Or leave it on.
Thanks
Neville
Off?

I think that comes off as well.
The more I read about JV 44 the more I appreciate Red 3:)

You can also see that the nose panel in the 4 for Victory contest is right off the Red 3.

Yes, The JV-44 Fw-190's would have NO need for the drop tanks since they were for short range defense only.. I would think you could either leave the rack on or off..

leave the rack off.....they wouldn't carry it unless they had had a drop tank on it, which they probably would not unless they wanted extra loiter time.
If you look at 21c's site even the red three in the '4 for victory' photo mauntauge doesn't have its tank or rack on.....nice attention to detail.

Speaking of the FW, are the flaps and rutter supposed to be stiff? Looks like they should have some kind of movement. Or am I just seeing things?

The rudder should deffinitely move. As for the flaps, I think they can move as well, though they may be difficult to pull down. I haven't really ever dropped the flaps on my FW-190. Need to give that another try...

I have a question also. Was the antenna included with the Red 3? And if so, where was it located? I though some one said it was in the cockpit, but I'm not sure? Thanks for any help.

On my S2 190 it was attached to the stick in the cockpit. Look there.

The round thing that is at the top of the stick is the antenna? If so, how do you get it out or off? Thanks

Razor or exacto knife. I had trouble with it, but it will come off eventually.

The problem with the flight controls on the FW-190 is that they are all tabbed, not hinged. So you will not get any sort of travel in them, unfortunately. This is slowly changing on every new release, though, so just about all of the new planes coming out have improved flight controls.

Thanks for the info Teamski. That makes complete sense. OH well, I guess I won't be doing a RUN UP procedure with my FW

you can display it in take off mode: hang it, with the flaps down about 15 degrees and the u/c partially retracted. I did that with one of my 190's and it looks pretty swish..
