Does anybody here have one of the JSI 1/18 Boyington "Lulubelle" Corsairs...?? I would like to know if the pictures are fairly representative of what the actual model looks like...?? Aikens has these on sale, and with free shipping included it seems like a pretty good deal, but I'm a little wary after the JSI F-14 "spots" debacle and I would like to hear some opinions from owners of the Boyington model. Thanks.

I agree with your feelings with these 'Internet' pictures. The Lulubelle looks fantastic with the panels accentuated and highlighted like this, kinda makes me wish I hadn't bought the Bunker Hill.
I hope someone can chime in that has one ... I still might get one.

I was wondering the same thing in January and I decided to buy it. I'm glad I did because the paint job is absolutely beautiful. It is the old 21st century mold, but with the light blue scheme and detailed weathering it stands on it's own next to my BBI Daisy June.
I'm curious if this release was the special edition Pappy Boyington F4U that 21st was supposed to come out with, minus the flight crew/mechanics.

Thanks for the replies and info guys, much appreciated.

I managed to find some pictures of the actual "in box" product, and they seem to confirm what you guys have already said... it's a winner..

I think I'm going to get the one from Aikens, it seems like a good deal, unless anyone knows where I can find one cheaper..??

Hello Scott,
I place an order with Aikens about a month ago. I thought it was free shipping over $40.00. I than found out not on 1/18 scale products. You might want to call and check on the free shipping for 1/18 products.

Yep you're right.... doesn't apply to 1/18, rats..

Even so, I ordered two items and the combined shipping of both was only $5.50 ea. ($11.00 total) so still not a bad deal...

I love Aikens. Done business with them for a couple years now, recently just ordered one of the BBI LAVs. Sally had it to me the next day with the usual candy as a nice touch. I highly recommend.

I have the JSI "Boyington" Corsair, and P-38 "Putt Putt Maru"
The paint on both of these models is excellent, with the Corsair the better of the two.
You will not be disappointed ostketten.
Makes the F-14 debacle even more painful,as they have shown that the do know how to do this properly.

Hello, please excuse this brazen thread ambush, but I will be listing the Ultimate Soldier 1/18 Boyinton Corsair on eBay tonight 2/12/2012. It is still in the box, the box is dinged. I will also list an Fw-190 without box and the Me-109 Nightflyer without box. I am not a re-seller, I'm just a guy who is in-between jobs with a mortgage.
