Hey guys,

Not sure if this is the best place to put this question but seeing as some have mentioned painting here I thought I would try here.

I use an airbrush to detail, paint whatever and my question is

When using an air compresor and you set the PSI on the reg say for 20 PSI is that what you are getting 20 PSI?

I ask this because I set the regulator at 20 PSI and of course when I hit the air on the airbrush the PSI at the regulator drops 3-4 PSI.

So Iam wondering do you set the PSI before any air is moving through the airbrush or do you have air flowing out the brush and then adjust the PSI at the regulator?

So to compensate for that 3-4 PSI drop when the air is comming out the brush should I set the regulator at say 24 PSI?

I hope this makes sense
