Fans will also get the first chance to see the all new re-tooled P-51 Mustang in 1:18 scale. This is also another kingpin project with the aim to be the definitive version of the P-51 ever produced by any company in glorious 1:18 scale. The “never before seen feature” will make its worldwide debut at Comic-Con 2005!

**I wonder what this "never before feature" will be? Removable engine cowling with detailed Merlin Engine? Removable gun covers? Very interesting indeed.

**All I can say about this comment is it better be for how long we have had to wait, and are still waiting. They say "definitive" but we will have to see. But I will admit I'm kind of looking forward to seeing photos from Comic-Con 05 of this "Definitive" new tool Mustang. Now "IF" it has features like a removable cowl with a detailed Merline Engine ect then I will be buying one no questions asked. BUT if its no better then BBI's Mustang then I'll pass. And I dont give a damn if 21st's outlines, rivets, ect are a little better then BBI's because in my view BBI's Mustang is a work of art and UNTIL 21st proves me wrong my view wont change.

Comic-Con 2005 will be very interesting for this Mustang fanatic for sure.

centone.

Just because I am a fanatic and and avid P-51 fan dont mean I'm an expert. Maybe 21st will out do the BBI Mustang and if so thats great, more power to them. Will I make comparisons? Sure I will in fact I know I will. And when and I say WHEN 21st comes out with the new tooled Mustang I will only be happy to give my views on which is the the better representation of the famous Stallion of the skies. When I read that we will see the new tooled Mustang at Comic-Con 05 it made me wonder two things:

1- Will it be the final production version when its released?
2- Will it be revealed at Comic-Con 05 just when 21st plans on releasing it?.

I'm happy as anyone I'm sure to see it and deep down I hope that after all this talk and time it will be the "Definitive" 1/18th Mustang and it will be done very well straight down the board with no complaints from anyone including myself. But as of right now BBI's Mustang leads the pack and that could change very soon.

But oh yes, you can count on me to give my views and comparisons on which is the BEST version of the Mustang in 1/18th scale. All we have to do now is wait for 21st to get going and release the darn thing.

AS another very avid P-51 Mustang fan, I'll give my review of it and even take it to the Planes of Fame Museum and have the guys who work and build Mustangs take a look at it. I can't wait to see it in person... but unlike MightyMustang I'm very open minded about this. I'll take one that has a better canopy and nose cone even if that was all that's changed. Obviously by the special feature(s) it's going to be much more. And I'm sure 21st will correct BBI's wing rack mistake :-P I can't wait to see it at Comic Con! Maybe we'll get a peak at something at Weekend of Heros! As a fanattic of the Mustang as well, and being one who spends almost one day a week around 3x P-51D Mustangs, I'll be happy to post my thoughts as well and opinion on who's is better.

And be patient please! People have been so impatient with upcoming releases. It takes time to get them out. The longer it takes the better things can be hammered out and corrections made. I think we're in for a very special treat with this new P-51... 21st has had plenty of time to study the BBi Mustang. Is the BBi Mustang a work of 'art'? I don't really think so. It's a nice plane for sure, but I can think of some 21st aircraft I could easily give that title to for being closer to the real plane than even the bbi Mustang is.

At my local airport they have 2 P-51 Mustangs which are a B and D so I have alot of time to see them up close and personal as well. And as far as when I said that the BBI Mustang is a work of art? it is compared to the crappy versions that first came out from 21st. And 21st has had time to study the BBI Mustangs? I'm sure they have p51, I'm sure they have. And I'll keep my opinions about that to myself.
