not out yet. Virtually exactly 1/18. Funky paint scheme. Comes with Italian air force markings.
Just thought i'd show it for anyone that might be interested.
Interesting...

Looks interesting. It appears that the ordnance might be molded onto the wing vs. being a separate piece? Wasn't the AMX a joint effort with Brazil? Might have some interesting paint schemes (maybe the one displayed is an accurate one

)
Aferg - although I'm probably just about the only person on the board wondering about this: what ever happened to the new R/C F-14 that was being developed? The prototype looked pretty sharp with removable ordnance and all. With all the JSI buzz, I'm sure this got forgotten about, but I'm curious since it would: 1) probably not have spots, 2) probably be light enough to not crush its own landing gear, and 3) w/o all the r/c gear would hopefully be 1/2 the price!!!

it's been out for some time now. This is the best price by far i've seen on it:
http://aerialhobby.com/index.php?main_p ... cts_id=564
Were i to get a second Tomcat (space is becoming a BIG concern), it would be this one. It's got white undersides, which i like and most of all it's super light for hanging. Also $100 cheaper now....didn't use to be but is now (when these first came out they were $200 for the same airframe only option).
It won't be nearly as detailed as the JSI, but if one is just going to hang it up high, i don't see that as much of a problem.
Doh!

Perfect! Exactly what I was looking for - but it's not available

It still says "coming soon" ? Lemme know if you notice them available anywhere else at a decent price. This baby is looking like a
real nice possible alternative to the JSI beast. I was afraid to even set the JSI bird on its gear if I got it - so the weird gear on the r/c one becomes a bit of a moot point. This also has ordnance, no spots, and good price point! I can easily live with the foamy texture, and the light weight is great.
Now they just gotta get it in stock!

the price everywhere else is around $150. Just be patient, it will be in in a few weeks. Just keep checking back.
What are you doing to do with your JSI Tomcat?

Yes - patience! But it looked like aerialhobby site was out of Singapore so maybe I'd pay more for shipping anyhow?
As for the JSI tomcat - I never bought it. I'm riding the fence, which as they say, gets quite uncomfortable after awhile! So now I'm leaning towards getting the R/C F-14
AND F-117 from BananaHobby.com for just a bit more than I would have paid for just the JSI F-14.

most US retailers sell it for $170+ so even with the higher shipping from singapore it's probably a better deal. However, shop around....you may be able to get it for less in the US.
I never bother looking at US retailers because shipping is about the same from the US for me plus i get nailed with Customs fees. Coming from Asia i never pay customs fees.
I got the JSI because i felt it was just too much of a beauty to pass on...and at the time the foam one cost about the same as the JSI. If i decide to get a second though, it will be this for sure. But i think i'm only getting one of each of the big jets from now on, due to space considerations.
