Looks great! Noticed they changed the Huey and P-40 schemes as well. I hope that doesn't mean they cancelled the British P-40.

I would like one, but I was hoping the first scheme would make it out the gate first. It was very Battle of Britain looking.

That's the scheme they showed at a hobby show awhile back. As far as the P-40, would much rather have the RAF scheme they originally showed. Anyone save the pic of that?

edit: found it: http://aikensairplanes.com/jsi%20models/jsi-60006.htm

Speaking of the P-40... does anyone know what paint scheme the new one is? Is it American? It doesn't have any markings or insignias.

That's a good question. At the Japan Toy show (another thread) there was a Pearl Harbor Welch 160 Tomahawk displayed.
I hope it's not that one. I already got it, along with Taylor's P-40, and they are still available on the secondary market.

They should do the British scheme they displayed first, or better yet a Russian winter one.

It almost looks like an AVG scheme without the decals.

Aren't they lighter? Like, you know, the one in my avatar picture?

If the pic of the P40 shown now is close to what they are planning to produce, I think its quite safe it will not be a Pearl Harbour scheme

The red spinner is more prevalent on the commonwealth forces while the green/brown camo is usually american colors.

So it could still go either way, US or commonwealth

I'm a little curious why the previous pic of the brit P40 has been changed to this one with no markings.
Not wanting to get customers hopes too high or giving themselves some leeway on accuracy or even actual scheme of finished product?

When the BOB-ish 109 was first shown, many commented it was a little plain jane, so this new scheme could be the direct result of that feedback taken to heart.

Actually, the AVG scheme is accurate for a British camo scheme. The P-40B/C's that the Tigers used were taken over from a group of 100 that were supposed to go to the British but diverted to the AVG. So the markings are accurate for the British as well with the exception of the colored spinner which was an AVG trait.

Well, two things to think about. I believe RAF insignas are trademarked and require royalties.

Also, if you remember 21st century toys' AVG P-40 it came with sticker roundels. Because of political incorrectness surrounding that symbol in china.

from what in understand initial photos of products were basic and werent exactly what was to be released. so this may actually be the 1st scheme to hit the streets

That Me 109 looks much better than the one that was shown many months ago.

I would like to see a non-Galland "Battle of Britain" Me 109.Preferably of an ace,or future ace.

Not sure about the P-40.
Would have to see the markings on it first.
I would like to see in no particular order
AVG-"Flying Tigers"
RAF-"Sharkmouth"
Aleutian Tigers-Large skull on the nose. 8)

The Aleutians P-40 is my favorite. Unfortunately they can't put the Aleutians Tiger on a P-40B. By that time in 1942 the US was flying the P-40E which replaced it.

Skyworks has got a really cool one though. :?

The skull nose art is cool though. Was that on the P-40B and predated the tiger?

I know that General Chenault's son was in the Aleutians which probably inspired the tiger nose on the E's.
