Should I, or shouldn't I, that is the question.

I like a lot of you have been waiting for the JSI F-14 model. But, after all the talk about the spots on the plane, I am kind of wondering if I would enjoy the model. What do you guys think about this guy who is on the fence?" Get the Tomcat, or skip it? Thanks.

If you can (a) live with the spots, or (b) re-paint it yourself, or (c) have TKO or someone else re-paint it for you, then buy it. Otherwise, you could be stuck with a plane you can no longer return.

The mere fact that you question one of the most beautiful models ever created because of some silly spots on the paint job!
Get it man, the spots wont over rule the rest of this planes magnifigance!

I say go for it if you like what you see. The overall model has been reported by those that actually have it "in hand" to be great. Sure the weathering may not be the most desirable, but from comments of those that have it "in hand" it hasn't killed it to them.
Personally it isn't going to kill it for me.

Get it, you never know if there will be a second release or different scheme. to me, the F-14 in 1:18 scale is a pinnacle piece that I have wanted from when I first started collecting in 2001.

If you can't live with the spots then I say don't get it. They are very distracting. But overall I think the plane is great because of the features it does have. I don't regret my purchase. I just wish I could afford another.

If this was a plane I really wanted, I would go for it. If it ends up being a limited run, you will take the chance of not getting one or paying a extraordinary price later on.
Who knows a few years from now the spotted version may be a collectors item just because of the spots.

How true this could be. Possibly coming soon to an E-bay listing near you......

Well in the end it’s up to you but look at it this way, if you have some modeling abilities the spots can be corrected even if they should have never been there in the first place. I have two coming and I have seen the photos. I think the dots are terrible but it hasn’t stopped me from getting two one of which will have the darkest spots of all since it’s a lighted version. In the end there is no 2nd run promise so you have to play the cards you have in hand. Good luck with your decision. I struggled with it myself but eventually decided to get one.

I got mine today and though am not totally thrilled about the spots it wasn't a deal breaker and am glad I bought. Spots or no, my opinion & it's only that, is the Tomcat will be selling for stupid money in the not so distant future.
