also lub up any parts that you need to join like the head to the body also the landing gear spring..
this make it easy for the spring to retract.
just love the landing gear and the rubber tire...

There are a few of us here that think the spots are bad and can't live with them being on the plane. I am one of those guys. I tried to optimistic and I reserved much of my own judgement till getting one myself but when I did, I can tell you I didn't care for the look.wolfman1973 wrote:So it sound like the F-14 is Junk? That said the F-14 is far from being junk. It's really a nice model and in some respects raises the bar again. It's a little more involved with putting together but it's not difficult.

Well said!trex0770 wrote:Got mine this past week and it's one of the best 1/18's out there except for the spots. Kinda like a beautiful woman who dresses all frumpy but you can tell that she's still hot underneath the frumpiness!

Be VERY CAREFUL taking the canopy section out of the packaging. My antenna mount is broken, don't know if it was like that from shipping or when I removed it from packaging. It is in there so tight you have to use some force to get it out. Try taking the nose cone out first then pull the canopy toward the rear to try and take pressure or keep from hitting the antenna on the packaging. Don't know why they didn't put something like a plastic bubble piece over the antenna to keep it safe it is very fragile.
I'm trying to glue mine but don't have much faith as it is a very tiny piece that hold the antenna on and it is suppossed to be a moving part that it's attached to and will probably be bumped by the nose cone if ever opened.
Very sad with the way this turned out.
