What is This Gunk On My Unimax 1:18 Bradley?

TRU got in some woodland/euro camo "Assault Force" 1:18 Bradleys. I really like it, but when I took it out of the box I noticed that the pod has some white "powder" stuck onto it. It looks like the dust left over when sanding or cutting plastic and it seems to be stuck on the surface or dried into the paint. I don't want to break out the Goo-Gone or start scraping with my hobby knife until I know what this is, I already scratched it a bit with the knife, doh.

So has anyone else had this problem or know what it is and how to safely remove it? I could sand and respray the pod but if there is an easier way I'm all for it.

Eww, lol. that's worse than the fingerprints and occasional hair found on this stuff. :x

I should point out that the missile pod is the only place with this stuff on it.

Well I guess my best bet is to airbrush it. Fortunately I have the right colors. Thanks Unimax!
