I agree!! With PTE, there'd be no need for extra arms or extra legs to pose 'em. And how neat would it be to be able to SIT these guys in their vehicles and on a motorcycle? Plus with their pricepoint, you could build a HUGE army!!

I'd sure as hell buy the stuff!

I'm in... Why anyone would vote against it, actually, makes zero sense... Yet 6 people have. This is one of those, "why vote against it, just don't buy it", moments. It's kind of like when everyone asks for umpteen airplanes and I tend not to vote because I don't care, but why vote against it, ya know? If someone wants it go for it...... yet there are votes against it.

Anyway, I voted Yes because I think getting WW2 in the "cheaper" format would be a nice way to army build, and customize. The Humvee's ideal with a little bit of work, and really I think it's one of their (PTE's) better items. I could see WW2 tanks done properly, at least some, as their Abrams is a fair size, just not to-scale. Abrams are pretty big though.

I'd be more interested in what could be done as far as figures and playsets though. The detail's will lack, but I think we could see good base figures for customizing, and that's enough to have my attention. I could see smaller items making it to-scale though too, like armored cars, motorcycles... Again, details may need to be added by the consumer, but I'm ok with that.

Now, all that said...

I don't think this'll happen, sadly. PTE's nice, but I think they're focused on things that sell better to kids, and what they have works fine for them. WW2 may do ok, but all signs point to it being more adult-centered, and I don't think PTE's even considering the "adult" collectors at all when they make their stuff. Not even on their radar. We just happen to enjoy a lot of it unbeknownst to them for the most part, haha.

A WWII line is certainly within the capabilities of PTE. Oddly enough some of their items already work in a WWII setting. The guard tower, bridge, new bombed-out building, motorcycle/side car combo, horse, camel, the campsite sets, and even the Mutt can be used in a WWII setting.

If they did go for a WWII line, the figures would stink for the large part, but it would be the other items that could be well done. As Jesse said, I could see them doing a lot of the smaller vehicles like Jeeps, Kubels, armored cars, and then some of the tanks. Actually, I would picture their tanks being something like the Bravo Team WWII vehicles - good, but not quite up the par with 21c/JSI or BBI.

However, I agree again with Jesse in that PTE is focused on the younger audience and primairly kids overseas. The modern items are recognizable and most certainly sell better.

Not necessarily, PTE put out a set of Firefighters, a couple of years ago, that to date have never been matched in detail or articulation. If they used the same level of detail, in a WWII line the would sit in quite well with your XD and BBI figs.

I'm trying to think of WWII vehicles i want that actually stand a chance of getting produced.

It's pretty much down to a BMW R75 or Zündapp KS750, Jagdpanther and a StuG III/IV.


From observing M&C, however, if they were to do a line, the T-34 would probably finally get made.

I like what M&C is doing now, though. Contemporary pieces that aren't all Western. I find WWII infinitely interesting, but I'm sick to death of it in 1:18, unless something other than never-ending Mustangs, Corsairs, 109s and Shermans happens.

I can't realistically expect a Fa 223 or Do 335, but i should be able to get a break from the Snake Eyeses, Wolverines and Supermen of the WWII 1:18 model market.

Only if it was at minimum as good as the FOV 1/18 bravo team line. Otherwise it would never get a second look from me.

I think a PTE WWII line would be a lot of fun to collect, even if it wasn't all that detailed or realistic.

I think it would be great,at the least they would be a source for parts,I voted yes.

yes it was loosely based on both the Long Tom and 8 inch howitzer. Can be converted to a reasonable representative of either with a bit of work.
