soldier force V has been out for about 3 years now. They never made it to north america.

With soldier force VI starting to show up here, it's possible that the earlier soldier force lines will show up now too, eventually at some point. But overall, chap mei stuff is VERY hard to find.

It looks like Chap Mei, has been looking to WWII vehicles for inspiration. I'd, like to see their version, of a tricked-out Panzer, or Horch.

I wonder how difficult it would be for Chap Mei to produce a collector line of 1:18, they could forgo some of the moving parts, to keep the pice point down, but I can't imagine the tooling for an accurate looking tank would cost much more than that of one of their zany looking ones.

it's their perceived market for such vehicles...they believe, correctly or incorrectly, that kids want huge guns, rockets and other zany tack ons. Chap mei toys are pretty popular in most of the world....so maybe they're right.

They often do however, make somewhat realistic looking vehicles......far more so than GI Joe garb.., er toys, for example.

The halftrack, wespe, aav, t-72 and they also made a pretty nice merkava a few years back....all adorned with junk. Fortunately, most of the junk is pretty easy to remove.

I agree, their Zany Tanks, Aircraft, and vehicles are a hit with the kiddies, and a lot of 3 3/4" action figure enthusiast, but I think they could capture more market share, if the tweaked their tooling a bit and offered a realistic looking line, similar to PTE, but more to scale.
I'd purchase a 1:18 Tiger for $25.00, even if it had a static chasis. I'm curious, how many of us would be willing to spend money on a value priced 1:18 military line. I think a lot of us already do this with the PTE stuff.

The halftrack looks pretty good, funny how the use German rockets on the side like the 251 German halftrack had mounted.
