Are they exactly like the old ones, or are we getting newer painted versions of them?
It's hard to see.

The FG-42 Trooper is in the back row as well, I see his ammo slung over his shoulder.
Nice figures to bring back but I've got a set and some extras from the original release so I doubt I jump into these again at the inflated prices. Good choices though, far exceeding the first choices they were picturing.
I also see the Panzerschrek Trooper in the rows facing the opposite direction. I'd forgotten about him, actually.

They'ed be nuts if they didn't make them.
Many folks have wanted series 1 Fallschirmjagers for years, great sculpts and great paint jobs.
Its just one more

for 21st. I sure there were many things in the works at the time their production that may have taken priority. I'd like to see a series 2 of German paras.
Well time will tell......................

Wonder if jsi might consider packing all 6 jagers in a single box to cut retail box wastage and reduce the overall price? Or would you guys prefer to buy them in singles so you can load up multiples of your fav fig?

Great recon and very exciting. I also noticed there appears to be a dak trooper with a standard helmet. Not a biggie, but it makes a lot of sense to go that route and I'd love some dak helmets with insignia.

Hopefully they actually follow through and make them. The question then is when?????

Are they the same paint apps as the original Fallschirmjagers?
I'm hoping for something at least a little different than the ones I already have.
Anyone....Bueler?
Guess I could go try to find them in the garage where some "top men" packed them away only to be lost amoungst all the other boxes like the Ark.

As near as I can tell, they're the same decoes. I actually would've liked seeing the entire wave in a Normandy-specific deco so they'd mix well together and with my D-Day infantry guys.
The deco on all 4 looks just the same as the old figures. It's a small pic so variations may exist, but it's definitely at least an attempt.

Great idea on doing them all in a specific period for camo, as a unit or whatnot. I wonder why JSI is so closely sticking to the original 21c paint schemes.
Does anyone have contacts there? Seems like we get a decent stream of accurate information. Has to be coming from somewhere and perhaps they'll take some feedback.
Many of us have been itching for a re-issue of the FJ's, or a whole new batch of newly tooled figures, but it was the figures and accessories that were popular, not that particular identical paint setup.
Or heaven forbid, the same guys again in elaborate new packaging.. <sigh>

No point in me buying them if they're going to be the same.
Seems to me to get the most mileage out of these guys it would be logical to paint them different.
This isn't Star Wars, I'm not army building Fallschirmjagers, and I don't think there are young kids just discovering Fallschirmjagers for the first time coming up through the ranks ready to buy them like Clone Wars.
They're going to have to rely heavily on their fan base who've been buying this stuff from the beginning IMO. Fancy packaging is not going to get me to buy them either if they are the same.
I like Jesse's idea of Normandy specific ones.

I'd buy probably multiple boxed sets of decoes specific to a region or whatnot of the war. Paras in the Ardennes would be radically different looking, but the Normandy would be a repaint, and then so would a Crete unit, and so forth... If possible some mix/matched heads from other waves would be NICE, but not necessary.
Now, as to why JSI is doing it this way, making deco changes is actually a little time-consuming and whatnot. The templates and whatnot have to be changed, new ones may need made... There's some work, but it's not impossible and is probably the simplest thing to do (headsculpt varying depends on if the factory has the heads and whatnot).
I'd love seeing the MP40, and FG42 Troopers in some abundance... The MG34 and Panzerschrek guys are nice but kind of "specific". The only really generic guys were the aforementioned and the officer who was ok but his helmet was made for hanging on his belt, not on his noggin.
I grabbed extras of a couple of these guys back in the day, but honestly I really wanted Normandy Invasion-specific Fals more than anything since they were instrumental in the defense once the allies were landed and burrowed in. That's the most wanted deco I'd personally like.
I like the idea of a less expensive boxed set of all of them too, by the way. I like that new packaging they designed at JSI, it's nifty, but it + the online cost isn't condusive to buying multiples... I know I certainly will not because as it stands, Star Wars is pricey enough... I don't need to add more costly hobbies to my list, haha. Army building this "new" stuff would constitute that I'm afraid.

My seven year old son would disagree with you. He has been waiting and watching for these guys to come out and he'll likely ask for an entire set. Like his other German figures he'll probably want a few of the more visually interesting figures as extras.
I would love to see some from other theaters of operation too.

I too would like to get a couple boxes of the set and get a few more of the ones I like, like mayer and jaeger, so having both options is excellent.
Many folks missed out on these, I myself cant get enough of them, so I'm glad there's a high chance we'll be seein them in the future. I'm cautiously hopeful for more variants of fallschirmjagers, that would be pretty awesome
We could use some market garden brit red devils too
