AAE83:
Thanks. I've already seen the SSHQ photos. I want to see high quality photos of the two Mustangs because I'm curious about the shading of the olive drab on Old Crow compared to Hurry Home Honey---in some photos, the Old Crow olive drab appears to be more brown and in other photos, the Old Crow olive drab appears to be more green. My guess is the BBI Old Crow is more brown than green.

I have both bbi p51's Old Crow and Hurry Home Honey and the olive drab on both is the same, or so damn close that my old eyes can't tell the differance. I think the 21st Old Crow is a little greener than either of bbi's examples.

Thanks for the info. Can you post a review of the BBI Old Crow and Hurry Home Honey---which is your favorite Mustang and why?
Also, here are two photos I found of the BBI Old Crow. I think the top photo is more realistic in showing the brown-tinted olive drab. The bottom photo has a green-tinted olive drab which is probably not a realistic photo.

I view both planes as nearly equal. If I have to pick one, I would say OLD CROW for the fact that it is an OD Green P-51D. Most of the D's are natural and seeing one with paint makes it stand out.

The BBI Mustangs are my favorite and the Old Crow is the best of the bunch. I agree it stands out.

Definitely, the top photo is closer to what it looks like in person, especially under natural light.
BTW, this is a shade of OD that I would have liked to see applied to more US armor by 21st. Unfortunately, only a version of the Sherman and the M-17 trailer were released in this brownish-green faded OD shade.

I think that is the Australian exclusive P-51.

It's BBI's Aussie exclusive. They made both the camo and NMF versions. Don't remember the exact numbers made, but it was something like 300 of each.

GUYS:
Thanks for all the info and help. I ordered the Old Crow and a couple of 1/32 dual packs from Smalljoes.
NOW all I need is a BBI P-51 "Hurry Home Honey"...
