Something Rotten in the State of Denmark? F14 News?

Did a JSI F-14 paintmaster ever make it out and I just missed it? October is only a little over a week away. I'm beginning to get Deja Vu (F4, SkyRaider, Dauntless, etc..).
Anyone seen a paintmaster yet?

That is a great question. Why have we not seen a painted production model? Seems they would want to show that model off.

Maybe the paintmaster looks like crap. Imagine spending 200+ for this model, and it having a bad paint job. That would really suck.

I have a bad feeling about this.

I don't know of any production 1/18 model yet that was on time. Can we please not worry until there is something to worry about? NO ONE has lost any money yet. So knock it off with those negative waves Moriariety!

Badcat's site now says late October for a delivery. I think it was originally the 9th or something like that. I'm not too worried yet

delays are par for the course in the 1/18 world. I'm sure they'll be anxious to get it out in time for Christmas but by the same token it's better they take their time and do it right, then a rush job that has lots of unhappy $200 dollar paying customers.

And it is still possible that this thing will never happen. In the same way 'it ain't over til it's over', 'you don't got it til you got it'.

So try to be patient and hope for the best.

I'm with Aferg on this.
Lots of anxious buyers on this.Myself included.
But I would rather not put pressure on JSI to rush it,just to make some arbitrary deadline.

I am prepared to wait for this.

It's WAY too early to start fretting about the F-14. The Dauntless, on the other hand, I'm finally allowing myself to have serious doubts about.

I just read in BadCat's blog that they spoke to JSI within the last 24 hours and JSI said that "tooling was undergoing fine tuning".
Good news is it is still in the works. Bad news is if they are still messing with tooling, it will be a few months before we ever see this thing.

From Badcat's blog:

"My favorite question, one that I seem to get asked about at least once daily, is, "What part of October will the F-14 show up?" Some background before I answer this one . . .

First and foremost, the 1:18 F-14 is the largest, most complex 1:18 scale tooling ever released. Since the majority of new releases missed their due date and were smaller, simpler models, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if a delay was forthcoming. I don't have any information to that effect, but I wouldn't be shocked.

Next, information coming out of JSI is light, filtered, and translated. The free flow of info that once came from 21st (even though some of it was disinformation) is not going to be repeated here. JSI is even farther removed than BBI, as Blue Box at least has an office in the USA whose personnel speak English. So, don't expect a deluge of scoops and news releases now, or in the future.

So, what's the word on the F-14? The last info I received about 24 hours ago, (again it was guarded, vague, and translated), was that the tooling was undergoing fine tuning (or words to that effect).

Bad Cat Toys is still showing an October Release and I don't have any hard, official info to the contrary. However, I'd say the odds are strong that the delivery date will slip a month or two--that's more of a guess and a feeling based on past experience, than anything else. But I am reasonably confident that JSI will come through with this fighter before the end of the year, even though we may see the spooks and goblins make their appearance before the Tomcat debuts."

I was hoping against hope, but I'm finally facing reality! Darn, it would have been nice.

Did Admiral toys join 21st Century and no longer makes models?

CORBREADFRED:

Everyday I check the other message board where Admiral used to post. Jason hasn't posted anything new since the 1/18 Mosquito and World War I biplanes were announced--which was a long time ago. Christmas is coming up soon, so if Admiral is going to have the new planes in time for Christmas, there ought to be some news soon. Otherwise, the lack of news doesn't bode well

Well, at least if there is a delay with the F-14, we will all have a chance to save up for it

I don't mind some delays, but I do hope the delays don't come with a price increase. :(

In the meantime enjoy what you have now, or get some of the stuff you don't have yet. Good things happen to those who are pacient.

F-14 news or the lack of it........

Sometimes in the 1:18th world ship(remove p insert t) doesn't happen....... for a while. Hell I'm still waiting for 21st's King Tiger which at one point we heard was "on the water" I now take that to mean...... They can't pay, throw the molds in the pond. :? Well thats the translation I got..........

Anyhow the Avenger took how long to show up? But we got it, great model and big as heck..... the F-14 may have a few issues...and as BadCat stated we may never get the intel we once got from 21st, Admiral, BBi and others but don't give Up!

I wasn't trying to create a "wave of negativity" which seems so easy to do on this board. I really wanted to know if anyone had seen a paint master of the F-14 yet and if I just missed it somewhere? Next time I'll leave out the "smelling rotten" part. I'm just hoping it makes it out by Christmas.
