Ouch! Glad I got one when I did - and all the more reason to take VERY good care of it. It is my favorite of the 21c Bf-109Gs.

Wow! That makes paying $70 for one like stealing.

Kind of wish I had a couple of them, or at least one. :(

There were at least three people interested in paying $300 for it.
And I only have one Me 109.

With JSI set to potentially do more Me109's not sure why this one went for so much.

Man, never thought mine would be worth that much when I got it from Badcat for 60 on a preorder. But then again I didn't see that with most of the other 1/18 items either.

That's the only 21st 109G I don't have. :(

I was watching it hoping to get a bid in there...not!

Seems all the 21st 109G's are heading above $100 now.
I've seen the Hermann Graf red nose recently close at somewhere around $165.
whodathunk? Those are Spitfire prices!

BY THE WAY....165 for a spit? in the box or dusty? same with a 109G?- I don't own anything still in the box- whats the going rate on displayed ones. I guess it all depends if your buying or selling.

Last year I saw an auction for a loose NKK Spitfire at the $150 mark and the auction was not over. I recalled finding the situation interesting as it indicated the potential value of my loose NKK Spit

However, I would guess that the unboxed value of an item would depend on a number of other factors as well, including its rarity, how many people were interested in that particular item at a given time, as well as the overall condition of the item.

You think the buyer would get bummed if JSI re-released the Rall 109?

Speaking of Bf-109 auctions, how often does one see the "Sahl" or the "Hackl" aircraft?

I have to say this comes as no real shock to me. With 21C's demise it was just a matter of time before supplies became scarce for some aircraft types/paint schemes. You will always have the crazies that come onto ebay and bid some pretty high prices for what is perceived to be a rare plane. Not that I am some great prophet or anything(far from it) it just seemed to make logical sense. The only wildcard here is JSI. As someone already pointed out, what if they come out with that aircraft and paint scheme again, then the collector value plummets. The high rollers paying these huge sums might get a tad bit unhappy but that is the risk. Just my 2 cents anyway.

if you look at JSI up coming releases it appears they wont be making any pilot specofic planes. they seem to be pretty generic. most dont even have a unit designation. maybe as time goes by they will start to add these back into the line. 21C made collecting alot more fun with the Rall, Galland and other pilots planes.

.....I guess the hard core collectors will still hang on to 21stCT anyway. You could have two identical planes, but turn them over and one has 21st embossed / the other JSI...........BING.............21st is rarer.

The Rall 109-G is my favorite in that series. The box art was fun to do as well!

TKO, if I may ask how many projects did you get to work on with 21st? I was never able get the Rall 109 but I have seen the box art work and appreciate your talent. Your 1:18th repaints speak for them selves. If Mr. Allen can ever bring back 21st from the abyss I hope your there to offer advice on new paint schemes. Oh, do you do armor? Glad to hear from You.

Remember how crazy the bidding got with the winter Me 109? I found about 8 of them along with a bunch of the British P-40s in Waco for $15.00 ea. on the clearance isle. Best deal I ever found!

I worked on every Special Edition Box over the span of 3 years. The first project I did for them was the Sky Captain P-40 box. There were a couple box designs that have never been shown. Off the top of my head was a "DETROIT MISS" P-51D Special Edition. There was also going to be a series of figures and armor designed as "A Bridge too Far".

One of my favorite projects was the George Bush Avenger. They were all fun to do and I have some great memories of working with those guys. I miss it quite frankly!

21C had me do was a Whittman Tiger Tank Box. It was pretty cool. Too bad it never made it out. That one and the Bridge too Far stuff was the only armor stuff they had me do.
