1/18 Spitfire mods? (MkVI or XIX and such)

Post by bananapirate » Sun Aug 23, 2009 11:40 am

I picked one up super cheap with a broken prop blade, and looking at the way it's put together, it seems easy enough to make a new prop/nose cone of a later variant. dunno about the shape of the wings, and I know it needs a second radiator and such.. I'm looking at you PH

You may have to change the guns too. Even if you keep the 303s you may want to align them with the gun hatches in the wings. Here is one that I did. I also made my own gun barrels from aluminum tubing. I know the paint scheme is for a Mk V, but I kept the plane a Mk I or Mk II as it came.

That looks pretty good. I like how you reworked the gun barrels, they look ten times better than the stock ones do.

I'm assuming it's either super easy or super hard?

Yes he is.

He should perhaps get to it sometime soon too.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it.
