Yujin has produced 1:18 scale Appleseed Figures called Active Motion Models. They are articulated at the neck (up,down, left, right, and tilt), double ball jointed shoulders, twist upper arms, single elbow joint, ball jointed and interchangeable wrist and hands (with one extra gun trigger hand), upper waist, lower waist, ball jointed hip joints, double jointed knees, and ball jointed ankles. These figures are just a little less articulated than Takara's Microman, and fit well within the 1:18 military world. They are clad in their blue and black uniforms from the movie (great movie!) and include; Deunan (female heroine of the movie and the shortest figure), Kudoh (Asian male character), Priss (AA male with weird name!), and Briareos (tallest and biggest figure in his mech body). Each comes with one or two weapons and an extra hand (except Briareos). They are at Suncoast @ $6.99 ea. on sale with 25% off ($5.25!). Buy or rent the movie for character identification (again, great movie!). These figures are friggn sweet!

I never heard of this movie

but the articulation sounds crazy. Is this one of the figures? She's cool
OK, she's 7"...I guess that was wishful thinking on my part.

Great pic! The female figure pictured is Deunan (pronounced Doonan). The figures measure between 3-5/8" and 4-1/8"+.

So that is a good rep. of the 4" version? I thought it was too good to be true in our scale. These are going to be tough to explain to the warden...any ideas

The photo shown above is the 1:18 scale Figure. The 7" figure is more proportioned because of its size. The 7" versions come packaged with the DVD. Only two figures are offered, Deunan (rare) and Briareos. Briareos is about 8" tall and Deunan is about 6-7/8" tall.
I am looking at the Active Motion Model figure of Deunan now and it is perfectly proportioned to all 1:18 scale figures, but being a woman, slightly shorter in height. It comes blister card packaged about the same size as 21st century 1:18 scale figures. To end the debate, go to this web page. The 1:18 scale figures are at the bottom of the page. There is no English version of this page. These are the four figures I purchased. The 7" version (2) are directly above, and static PVC figures are shown at the top of the page.

Here's the break down:
7"
Briareos
Briareos (Gold, packed with DVD)
Deunan (Nice fig, i have 2)
Then the 4" mentioned.
The scale is small on them. They are 1:18th height-wise, but their builds are slight. I saw the Deunan in person. Might get around to getting her.

They can stand in odd positions, although they don't really have more points than S1 bbi guys. I put some pics in my webshots if the one below doesn't work.
Fun to fill the void until the Japanese figures...
