I bought a Hayloft Playset,I liked the look of the stone wall on the box art;
but apparently this was never part of the set, so I find that somewhat disappointing.Downunder, we call that misleading advertising.

I was dissapointed with that too. Unfortunantly it is a common thing to see with American toy products, and 21c has been pretty good at it. The companies get away with it by noting on the package (in very small print) that the color, etc. of the items shown may not match the actual product. The Hayloft set is, IMHO, still a very nice building and well worth the price - even when it was at full retail.
If you want some other examples of 21c not showing what exactly was on the box, look at the back of the card for the S1 US and German figures. It shows a blue nose P-51 that looks far more accurate than the S1 XD "Lou IV" P-51 (or the S2 Blue Nose one) ever did!

Hey great you still upset over your Lou IV P-51? Just giving you crap buddy. I saw the same thing you did and it made me mad as well. 21st is notorious for putting images on their boxes and not having it look like whats inside the box. But they do say "product may vary or may be different that is shown" then what you really get. Frusterating as hell but we have to live it I guess.

Well, when I first noticed the picture-product differences, it was only a really minor complaint. If anything with the S1 P-51, I was annoyed with the small pilot figure. But then along came the S2 planes and all the subsequent releases! 21c has gone the extra mile, in my opinion.

I was "mis-led" that the 32x playset shows a TigerI on the box art, but you get a Chaffee instead..

I noticed that on the old red Motorworks boxes for the P-47 Jabo, the pictured plane has the centerline drop tank that is the metal pancake style, not the rounded paper style tank that comes with all of the 21C P-47s

I don't sweat it, remember the initial Corsair releases, had 'Big Hog" on the box and they never released that one. Just a picture of the prototype model. I'm just glad we have as many planes from them as we do now.

So do we file a class-action lawsuit and put 21st out of business?
I don't understand the ultimate point of this thread. Let's move on.

I think we're just commenting on the fact that the picture of the toy doesn't always resemble the packaged product. I don't think anyone here wants to sue 21c over something minor like that! Especially since we all swear by the products

I certainly don't want to sue 21C. My point was just one of note about some of the differences that are on the paint master photo and what we get with the production model.
I want them to use all the money they can to make new planes to support my addiction.

As long as 21C puts a disclaimer on the box indicating that not all the items pictured on the packaging are included, I think it's OK. Besides, it gives the potential purchaser an idea of how to further enhance the item.
