Small Scale Military Headquarters

This isn't a diorama, just information for those who might want to model
a mountain scene. The other day I found this pre-molded rock cover at Lowes that is used for covering pipes, water meters, etc. outdoors. I finally picked one up tonight



I placed 2 FOV figures on the mountain piece to show some of the rock's detail.



The plastic molded rock is about 21" high by 26" wide by 19" deep.
It is hollow and has 4 tabs along the bottom to fasten it to your lawn, board, etc. It is not cheap at $78, but then again how much is it now to find the 21st playsets each ???

I plan to cut a couple openings, one on either end and use it as a tunnel on my outdoor layout. Pretty cool for a "Mini mountain"

That IS cool, but I'm not ready to cave on $78 cool. (no pun on the "cave" part). I have an immediate SW idea for it, but it would utilize the interior a lot.

$80-ish is a lot to plunk down on a plastic rock though for me right now.

Ummm, up here in Canada we have rocks all around. Is there no rocks in the States that you have to shell out $80 for a stone? Just use a real one

Yeah, go ahead and haul a real rock in that size into your house. Unless you guys up north got natural plastic rocks ours down here are quite heavy. I think the key is it is plastic, clean, and easy to move around. I think the addage of working smarter than working harder applies.

Great find Blasto - what's also great is that you can use it for storage inside too - just keep stuff underneath the thing.

Make a neat display to have your guys repelling from or something like that. I like it.

I have seen these also and had the same thought! KMart has them in two sizes, but I don't remember if the largest one was quite that large. I seem to remember they were cheaper though.
Cool addition, especially if you want to do a "Pointe du Hoc" or
"Guns of Navarone" Dio!
