Retailers: any definitive word on the Solomons Zero?

Post by aferguson » Thu Jun 25, 2009 12:59 pm

I was wondering if any of our etailers have heard any definite word, one way or the other, as to whether the Solomons Zero is going to be produced or not?

Solomons Zero

Hi,
My guess, based upon a recent conversation with someone from BBI, is that the Sakai Zero will be their last aircraft for awhile. I'm not saying any future projects have been cancelled, but I was left with the distinct impression that based upon the downturn in the global economy, that it will take alot for BBI to continue offering any additional aircraft, in any scale, until the economy rebounds and spending picks up.

i guess that means no Hellcat repaint anytime soon, either. I was hoping for a late war overall dark blue one.

Hi All,
Keep in mind I indicated that nothing has been cancelled, at least to my knowledge. There's a decent chance BBI could resume production if the economy turns around. I've learned that there are no definites in this industry -- merely maybes, which obviously fuel speculation and conspiracy theories.

Anyone wanting to sell their collections before the end, please send me a PM. Thanks.

Funny! I was just thinking the other day that I should buy a couple new zeros and do EXACTLY what you suggested!

I have hit a MAJOR wall on my own customs due to the loss of my sisters vinyl plotter. i have so many planes needing just a little vinyl masks and they would be ready to roll. Including an all silver Zero. Anyhow, I did finally resolve this issue just the other day as I found a new supplier for my stencils. I am going to try to complete 2-3 new repaints over the weekend. I have a P-51, this Zero, and a new F-16 begging for last touches.
