Can anyone identify Sgt. Barnes's shotgun? I'm interested in knowing what it's called and if it was used in WWII also, or if it was not made/adopted until after WWII.

Lets see a pic. Are you talking abot the Vietnam Barnes?? If so, he's got a remington 870 that first came out in 1950ish. During WW2 the guys used the M1897 and i think the M1912, the 97 is great but if youve never fired one before, watch for the bolt cause it will come out and rip the skin right off your thumb:)

Yes, that's the one I meant. Oh well. Thanks anyway. I was wondering if it would serve as a gun for my Marines. Thanks!

The 1912 looks pretty close to a modern pump shotgun to pass for a WW2 gat.

I found the M1912 here:

Do you know if anyone makes the M1912 or 1897 in 1:18 scale?

I dont think they have come out with them yet but the M1912 is pretty close to what the M870 looks like but then again a Mossberg M500 is alot closer to the old gun, I think the BBi guys came with the Mossberg, I'll look through my garage tomorrow and see if I have a couple of extra shotguns for ya.

No problem, you could probably turn them into trench guns by gutting a peice off of the back of the receiver and adding a hammer:

Ok PTC, I looked through all of my gear and I found three shotguns, one is the Barnes one and the other two are a bbi pistol grip and a police shotgun from intoyz, the pistol grip is definitely not WW2 but the cop gun can be customized a bit and it will look like a m1912. Send me your address and Ill get these out to you this afternoon.
