World Peacekeepers Humvee - Opinion

Post by dandaman » Wed Jun 24, 2009 2:41 pm

I was in BigLots today and was checking out the World Peacekeepers section. They had this green camo humvee which looked like a pretty good transport/cargo type humvee. I was tempted to buy it, but I wanted to check with you guys first. Is it worth it? I've been burned so many times by items that have "looked good in the box" but when I opened them at home I was sorely disappointed.

The PTE Humvee actually is not that bad. It is a cheap alternative to the more expensive versions put out by 21c and BBI. The detail is a little sparse, but the general look is there. I also like the fact that PTE offers 3 different types of hummers: a regular version, one with an open bed and one with an open bed with a raised "canvass" covering. They did put the seats, wheel, and radio details in the interior, but not much else. Underneath the hood is just a hollow space. They did put plastic in the windshield, which not even BBI did on their Hummers. The figures and weapons that come with the vehicle are not that great, but that is what BBI and Bravo Team figures are for

I'm REALLY surprised that you're finding these. Big Lots don't usually restock PTE til Aug or Sept.
Anyone else spotting ANY PTE in BL?

My guess is it's just old stock. I've seen some 1:18 PTE tanks at one BL that have been there for nearly 2 years.

Well, I picked on up today. It is very nice. A lot nicer than I thought it would be. I thought it was going to be made of some funky rubberized plastic. But it's cool.

There were 2 left on the shelf. I'm tempted to go back and clean them out.

Cargo Humvee

Post by dandaman » Thu Jun 25, 2009 3:13 pm

Update: I've been playing with this cargo humvee and I love it. I am sooo going to buy the rest of them from Big Lots.

Why didn't anybody tell me how cool these things were?
