Yeah, I've seen 'em listed on evilbay.
Makes me want to buy an extra and do a custom paint job.
Anybody ever tried to remove the paint from one of the F-18's?
IF I get some free time I might buy an extra "roll your own" F-16s and try my hand...

I just wonder if it's a BBi factory scheme or a redo from someone down under...

Yep! I posted the ebay link a couple weeks back, and managed to get a modeling "Mate" lol of mine down under to pick one up for me, said he couldnt find the other, but will keep an eye out.
In regards to the paint, it seems fairly thin and if someone wanted to tackle it, wouldn't be hard to remove and rescribe accurate panel lines then repaint whatever scheme the owner desired. I wish they'd do something similar with the bugs as was done with the F16's and allow us to choose different decal schemes. The cannucks have some mighty fine showbirds that would be incredible subjects for such a release.
Some examples for your viewing pleasure:

what's especially interesting about this is that there is not one Australian version but two! If each is really limited to 250 pcs then that would suggest that many more paint versions are possible in the future...

Greetings:
I am new to the board. Here is my first contribution... This is a link to the website in Australia that is selling the 2 Aussie versions of the bbi Hornet.
You can avoid E-bay

and buy direct. The $40.00(AUD) tax does not apply to orders shipped outside Australia.
I am thinking about adding these 2 birds to my collection. They are still quite expensive.

Welcome and thanks for the link.
It really is such a good idea - to have the ability to easily alter basic schemes to run off a few hundred for an airshow, or a country- or a military base

...very cool indeed.
And those Canadian schemes are real sweet

I guess a little more than an "easy alter"

, but damn cool....

Interesting! Too bad they are so much, otherwise I'd pick the two paint schemes up.
