what were some of the more common truck types on Ho Chi Minh trail and anything in close in 1/18 scale?

The ZIS-151 was built until 1965 and was replaced by the ZIL-131 which started production in 1967. To my thinking the 151 would be used until the late 60's and the 131 would show up closer to 1971-72 as the NVA were gearing up for the 1972 offensive and the US incursion in 1970 would require more trucks. Haven't noticed any models of either.

Most of the stories I remember seeing were about how they were able to move supplies using not much more then bicycles and carts

If you look on ebay, you can sometimes find 1:18 Chinese "jeeps" that look like they could be from that era. One of them has a recoiless rifle in the back. Pretty nice - and quite expensive.
