I just read the following on Merit's website:

Product Specifications:
• Realistic Paint Schemes
• Rotating Turret & Elevating Cannon
• Fully Removable Turret
• Detailed Turret Interior
• Rolling Treads & Working Suspension
• Opening Turret Hatches
• Ammo Loading Hatch & Hull Hatches
• 3 x Opening Engine Panels
• Reveal Engine Details
• Removable Ring-mounted MG42
• Constructed of ABS Plastic
• Fully Assembled

Did the 21C Tiger have working suspension? I've never seen a 1/18 Tiger in person, but have always felt the Patton suffered greatly from fixed suspension. I was convinced only 1/16 had suspension, making it my primary choice.

Not that I can remember, but it has been a while since I looked at it, and with it being in storage 10,000 miles away, it will be difficult to tell you.

I see how you are. Can't even do one little favor for a fellow collector. :)

The original 21c had no suspension. This will be a great feature and will add lots more detail.

Youre right. Im being selfish. I beg for forgiveness. I will start walking tonight, but that swim is going to be a real bear!

Thank you for your generosity. Look out for the sharks. :)

None of 21c's previous tanks had working suspensions and I don't recall seeing anything to suggest their King Tiger would. None of the photos included an example of a working suspension.

A working suspension on a static model isn't a priority or feature I'm eager to pay for. It's a feature that would go unused and unappreciated on my flat book shelves.

More concerned about the longevity of working suspension.

i highly doubt it will have working suspension. That would be a major retool with very little point to it.

Maybe however, we can get a class action lawsuit going against JSI for false and misleading advertising?

I agree with Aferg...

"retooling" is a very misleading term... It's not some simple fix. It generally often requires a whole new mold. In a multi-mold item that's not always a HUGE deal, but any new mold is a big investment. You really don't just tweak the existing one a bit and be done.

I doubt they added anything to it. Probably just a misprint about the suspension. I would be really surprised if they did that.

Hi,
If the original feature list did indicate a working suspension for the Tiger I, that claim has been removed/replaced on the Merit web site. It now says "rolling treads."

I think they're probably monitoring this forum. The preorder page at The Toy Federation still lists "Working Suspension" as a feature:

no tiger would have had this paint scheme without zimmerit too. Tiger I production stopped about the same time as zimmerit use was discontinued. And tigers made prior to the use of zimmerit had it added later.

I guess theoretically one or two of the very last production tiger I's may not have had zimmerit applied but it is certainly not representative.

However, the 21c panthers, panzer iv's etc should mostly have zimmerit too and don't so you learn to ignore the lack of zimmerit.
