21c PAK 40

Post by skypirate » Sun Apr 19, 2009 4:32 pm

I've always struggled a little with the price on this item when compared with other "vehicles" in this series. Just doesn't seem right that a half track costs the same price.

I'd been hoping for a sale while they still had two at the local TrU. Today, they were down to one. Finally, went ahead and bought it at full price, complete with long neck, young Karl Malden action figure.

QC is a tad weak. Upper assembly leans to the left quite a bit and a few other kind of sloppy items.

I thought they were sold out. Probably not worth the round trip to return it as it's 40 miles round trip. Live and learn.

Wait, PaK 40 artillery piece or Sd.Kfz 251/22 Half-track?

I think he was talking about the PaK40 Artillery Piece.

I haven't seen the Half track on sale anywhere, my TRU still has them on the shelves for $29.99.

The Pak is one of my favorite pieces... ammo crates, ammo, figure, and a nice detailed piece of artillery. Wish we'd gotten more variety in the artillery/AA realm, as 21st largely ignored it.

Now Hasbro, make us some Head Sculpt & Endor Uniform variations! The new Rebel Fleet Trooper gets the JJ Seal of Approval Though!

I was just using it for comparison. I think they were categorized the same. To me the half-track seems considerably more substantial for the price. My guess is the PaK 40 was more involved to assemble.

Agreed, it's a good looking piece. Mine's more than a tad sloppy. But, really felt the need for any representation of artillery in my collection.

Ah,

Yeah, i'd feel burned paying 30 bucks for a PaK when you could buy several for that price.

One thing that has me curious is the camo pattern. There's a noticeable dot pattern that makes it appear as if the camo was printed on rather than painted.
