get 'em while their hot, me droogies!! 2 left.. maybe only two left in the entire universe and surroundings!! I think the online retailers should just price 'em all at either 500.00 or 1000.00 and just put my wallet out of its misery.

* That is totally ridiculous. I seen a whole stack of these when the MTS had them last year , and every one of them had some kind of paint flaw or QC issue associated w/ them , so I naturally passed.

So true... and now you've got me on a rant

I don't know what it was about the ME-262A, but a lot of them were lemons. My local Hobbytown has carried them from time to time - many had glue and paint issues, especially around that awful seam behind the cockpit. Personally, I have actually gone through three of these planes just to get a good example. The first one I purchased had the canopy break off, part of the nose wheel door chip off, and the little hooks for the small doors for the main gear break off. I take care of my models, and these breakages were not due to rough handling, but poor workmanship! I finally sold my junked plane to another boardmember and purchased a second ME-262. It too had problems right out of the box, so I returned it. My local Hobbytown then got in a couple more, which I got, sending one to another boardmember. My 3rd "Yelllow 7" ME-262 has held up so far and I'm happy with it, despite being a little nervous that something may go catastrophically wrong with it...

On the other hand, I've not had any of the above problems with my ME-262B Nightfighter, oddly enough. Those, at $35 at Monkey Depot, are a much better deal than that listed above

Good to know about the 262B, thanks Tman.

I, too, ignored several at a local hobbytown because of the horrendous appearance around the canopy, glue spots and gaps, etc. Several months ago, I finally threw common sense to the wind and bought one from Aikens- sight unseen, of course- I ain't a crackhead, its just the horror of not being able to get one at all, trumped the certainty of one with defects. So, I touched up the unpainted areas around the gaps- which were'nt that bad and didn't notice any obvious glue splotches. Naturally, the main gear door hooks broke quite easily, but the fit is tight enough that they will stay in position either up or down. I guess it could have been worse..
