I checked my email this morning and one of the toy managers sent me a message saying that Jim negotiated a contract for 1/32 and 1/18th items.

It sounded like there would be no new tooling for new items..

this not an April fools day prank

..... well yes it is

If nothing is currently being produced and all warehouse stock has been liquidated through MD and BCA, they may be carrying it on paper, but they won't have it on the shelves. And if there is no tooling, there is nothing new to look forward to - just more of the same things we have seen for the past 5 years warming shelves for months or going straight to clearance.

Then give us a tried-and-true 21C favorite 1/18 plane with a slick repaint. Hell, I'll buy it.

btw Jim would be Jim Allen, the owner and founder of 21st century toys.

You may not be playing an april fools joke on us but are you sure whoever sent you the email isn't playing one on you? The timing of this announcement is highly suspect...

Its not much of a prank with the post stating its not a prank. That would be pretty dumb IMO.

Well, my suggestion is: find the most HTF molds, put new repaints on them. Hit us hard and fast with the best in 1:18.

Spitfire
Huey
Cobra
P-38

King Tiger
88
Panzer

etc.etc...it's hard to imagine we will see what we have in the past during the heyday but, I wish and hope it is true.

Dauntless,
Absolutely agreed with the HTF molds. Man, I'd love to be able to have an affordable P-38, 47 or Spit at WM. Put a new scheme out and wham, instant sale for me :D

If what's being said indeed rings true, put the best four 21C planes in a varied crate to correct the distro issue. Could you just imagine a Cobra, Spit, P-38 and 47 all at WM at one time? I think I'd have a coronary if I saw them all on the shelf at one time.

It would be great to see these things out at wal-mart again. One or two pegs of figures and a few small vehicles rotated out once or twice a year.
I would love to see some of the older stuff re-released for some of us new comers that never got a chance when this whole craze started.
Best,

Just remembered that :(

The first time I remembered ever seeing 21st Century was at TRU and a P-38 hanging from the ceiling. Maybe 21C can take a line from Jim Bean

"You always go back to the Basics"

Meaning those were the aircraft that captured the 1/18 imagination in me. The toys that started it all. Instantly recognized airplanes to the newcomer or someone who is less historically inclined. Keep them in the 21C line up.

Here's to hoping

The good old days are gone, we will never see aisles bursting with new aircraft. We have to accept and move on. I remember a pallet load of P-47 Razorbacks sitting in an aisle. Nice to dream about, but its time now to wake up and make the doughnuts. Those days are gone like the dodo and the dinosaur!

Hit us hard and fast with the best in 1:18.

Spitfire
Huey
Cobra
P-38

What's funny is everyone of these models collected dust and was eventually clearanced. And the first three it happened at Walmart! The P-38s at TRU. I remember Centone and I coming across at least 30 S1-S3 P-38s on top shelves at one TRU alone years ago.

Can you blame stores for not wanting them again? We always ask why 21C doesn't just re-release X, Y & Z - well, you need a store to agree to carry them. Same with FJ - I would love to see them again, but they sat at TRU and ToyFed for a LONG time.
