Strange 1:18 experience

So, i had to do some business up in shiprock new mexico. Now, shiprock is a navajo american indian reservation, and its a big one at that.
I figured i would head into walmart and just see hwat they had up there, seeing as it is about 5 hours drive from my home base of santa fe and a very very long haul from my other home base of boston.
So walmart had absolutly nothing! i mean nothing, not even the little kid stuff made by 21st, you would have no idea 21st even existed.
So i went out into the parking lot and in teh back of a pick up were three female navajos selling a truck load of 1:18 xd birds and tigers. I mean literally only a few feet from teh front door of walmart and it apeared like it was an okay thing for them to be doing.
what was really weird was that the boxes had none of the clear plastic parts of the box... i could not tell if it had been cut out, but i have to assume that it was. However the planes and tanks seemed to be intact.
They were being sold twenty bucks for one piece, and 30 for two, or 40 for three.
I did not buy any because i have simply never seen such a strange thing. And there were walmart employees all around and no big deal was made.
i have no idea what was going on, but if anyone is near shiprock and wants to take the risk, there is a good deal going down there.

Were these new, current-issue 1:18, or older pieces? Sounds like they might have been store returns that "found" their way into the re-sellers hands, rather than being sent back to the distributor or manufacturer. I wouldn't be surprised if some jobber is picking these up for a song, and selling them to the Navajos in bulk. All they were selling was 1:18? No other toys, or merchandise??

That peyote is some baaad stuff.
Just a hallucination? Or is Wal-Mart dumping surplus on the Indians?

My gosh! The White Man has traded 21st Century products for their casinos! The Indians get the shaft yet again!

Yeah, they were only selling 1:18 XD and "Indian Bread."
It could be reselling of returned toys, but i dunno, because the inner contents seemed fine to me.
There were a lot of spits, a few tigers, a lot of the red 3, and one or tow p-47's.
I was awake and not under the influence of anything... haha... tired from driving, but i was seeing things clearly.
maybe walmart just sells them what they can't? i don't know.

that is a very bizarre thing for anyone to be selling out of the back of a pick up truck....just 1/18 scale 21c stuff and nothing else. And in front of a WM.
Twilight Zone mat'l.
Strange deal ?

Boosted off of the truck or out the store and sold on the street (Inside job). That is why there is nothing on the shelf.

Interesting that the Navaho's found a way to make a few extra bucks.
I like to see a little private enterprise now and then.I never could resist the local lemonade stand set up by the kids in the neighborhood. We don't have any cool indian tribes around here anymore although back in the old days there were a lot of Comanches and Apaches(including Geronimo who
put up a hell of a fight in this area).

They're part of the XD blackmarket! Wal Mart doesn't have it, but the Navajo sure do!
Too bad they weren't selling the air-cav Huey... (think of the markings)

I'd say - this may be one site for some of the missing Avengers - or this may be why it takes so long for some stores to get their inventory.

Wow, hope that has not scarred you for life!!

Remember, though, beware of Navajos bearing gifts!!!
