BBI 82nd Airborne figures accurate?

Post by dragon53 » Sat Mar 28, 2009 8:55 am

Do BBI's 1/18 World War II 82nd Airborne paratrooper figures have the red "AA" patch on the left shoulder? All the photos I've seen are from the right side which show an American flag on the right shoulder, but it appears there are no "AA" patches on the left shoulder---if so, I don't think the figures are accurate. As far as I know, 82nd paratroopers usually had the "AA" patches on their uniforms.
I ordered the BBI 82nd Airborne Dimarco and Ramirez figures from Monkeydepot and was wondering about their patches and accuracy.

The ones I have bought do have the patches on the shoulder. And are pretty accurate regardless.

MG40K:

Thanks for the info. I hope the DiMarco and Ramirez figures have the left shoulder "AA" patch---it's hard to tell since all of the photos I've seen are from the right side.

No Problem, and looking at the Ramirez fig now, it does indeed have the "AA" patch. 8)

MG40K:

Thanks---that's a relief. I'm originally from North Carolina and have an NC model collection. The 82nd Airborne is at Fort Bragg, NC. An 82nd Airborne figure without the "AA" patch wouldn't be right.

This post is way off topic, but I am so tempted to make some sort of diorama based on the picture of the M1 Abrams crusing the car in MG40K's signature. The Bravo team M1 would look perfect crushing some sort of cheaply available 1:18 wreck 8)

Now back to the paratroopers
