...was wondering if one of you would catch me
It all depends on the luck of the draw, and I hope it goes to a boardmember and NOT a schmuck who will sell it on ebay, since we are the biggest XD fans!

Sigh. Won't be hearing the results today:
The F-104 STARFIGHTER contest is now closed. Thank you to all of the fans who have participated. We are in the process of selecting our top three winners this week. Each winner will be contacted via e-mail the following week. Thanks again to our loyal fans for making this contest a huge success!

The winning names were drawn and provided to 21st management directly so that they could begin to contact the winners. I think they might have already done so... Once 21st receives word back that they have accepted the prize and if the winners give permission, I will post the winners names on AREA-21. For now check out the article on the AREA-21 site for more details. We had a TON of entries!
The most well received contest yet, so you can plan on others very soon.

tko211,
I saw you and the other fanclub officers pulling out names on the 21st Century website. Very cool.
I changed my email address since I entered the contest.
If by any good graces, I should win- would they find another way to reach me?
My current email address is:
wave17019@fuse.net
I entered the contest with the email as:
wave17019@earthlink.net
I know Tman will win it anyway, but I thought you could pass this info onto the powers that be- if I were to win...
Is there a way to change the exsisting email address on my fanclub information? I could not find anyway to do it. So I resigned up under my new email address.

Has anyone heard anything about who won this contest? I'm assuming that the winners were notified over a week ago, and that becasue things have been quite around here, no one on the board (or at least no active boardmembers) won this contest. Area21 has been silent thus far. It wasn't me, contrary to the popular opinion around here!

It wasn't me.
The 21st Century fanclub president let me know it wasn't me.
I thought that was really cool of him.
He wished all 3 winners were from our board, because we really appreciate the hard work they put into their product.

Are we sure the winners were announced? I don't think they have been - it usually comes with a little bit of hype on Area 21.....
With the AC delayed they may have to drag out the contest

I actually don't understand why winners are not posted yet. After all, 21st never promoted the contest saying that winners will immediately get the plane. I think the manufacturing delay is irrelevant with regard to the contest. It's not a good way to kick off the first website promotion.
All this said, at this point I really don't care one way or another. Just looking forward to whatever 21st can ship in the way of 1:18 a/c this year.

Well, we know the winners weren't members of this board - or at least ones that don't post very often - otherwise we should have heard something by now. Winning an F-104 would be something worth bragging about!

How do you know that they named the winners?
Oh, and the first promotion was the USMC contest - and I think it was a success - ask T-man

21st would have asked the winners not to say anything about it, (especially here), until after it has been announced on 21st Cent site, don't you think. It wasn't me BTW.

Yeah seems if the winners had been drawn they'd at least announce that much. Who knows...

3 winners were actually drawn out and contacted via e-mail the day that the contest promised to close. Legally 21st has to notify each winner personally. It is routine for 21st to ask permission to announce the winners names for the final promotional announcement. There were hundreds and hundreds of names in that contest! It was a HUGE success, and I am sure there will be more. The funny thing is that it took 2 of the winners several weeks to even realize that they had won? My understnading is that so far only one of them have allowed permission to announce the name. I didn't recognize any of the winners as regulars of this board.

Oh well, you guys will get em next time.

Seems you were right
One rule of the contest should be you waive you're right to keep your identity secret

If you're ashamed of your XD then you don't deserve it
(OK that's me just being bitter that it wasn't one of us....

)
