Pricey, but actually not that bad considering there's so little avalable in period trucks at accurate 1/18 scale. And the detail and operating features on these might just be worth the expense. If it were in a more netural color (or even already painted for military), that would be the deciding factor. It would be a real pain to disassemble and repaint.
I have noticed die-cast companies are missing a market by not making re-paints in military livery. The only ones I've found in 1/18 are a 1950's sedan painted as a US Army staff car. Maybe not their target market, but there are enough military and every-variation collectors out there to make it worth the manufactures trouble.
