I thought the S.S Sets were exclusive to SmallJoes
I was a little burnt to see monkey depot sell the S.S. sets for $10 when they were supposed to be exclusive to smalljoes. I paid $60 bucks from smalljoes about 2 months ago for this set. Should I be pissed or no? I did pick up an additional 2 sets but still they were supposed to be exclusive.

Nope. In todays economy things change in two months time. At that time they were worth $60.00. Look at the 88MM Flak for instance!evilanimation wrote:I was a little burnt to see monkey depot sell the S.S. sets for $10 when they were supposed to be exclusive to smalljoes. It's definitely not SmallJoes fault where 21st dumps this or that, but it's also not really 21st's fault (or MD's of course) either. The term "exclusive" in the toy world rarely means what people think.
Generally when exclusives are offered to a retailer, the retailer gets dibs on re-ordering and such. However, once the retailer refuses reorder or a certain time lapses, the "exclusive" can and usually is offered up to other stores or outlets. It's pretty common in most other toy lines actually, and so similar things can and do happen.
In this case I'm assuming these were offered to SJ's, they got their allotment and didn't reorder because they didn't sell through their initial runs on them yet so no need... 21st maybe had more from the initial production, and so those are free to whoever will pay for them since they're really just sitting idle with no buyer.
Of course this is also unique in that it's a company seemingly going under, so who are they going to answer to? They can do what they want ultimately.
