How elusive is the Nachtjager 109??

Post by fullyautomatic » Sat Apr 09, 2005 7:23 pm

We hardly get any XD stuff this way and was wondering how hard it is to get a Nachtjager 109.We currently have one Kepford Corsair and one Galland 109 at the Walmart which floored me to say the least.I don't hear or see much chatter on the black 109 and was wondering if it is worth the purchase. Was it really one of the harder planes to get a hold of or did these go to the West coast?
I tried to get to the 21st Century site tonight but it seems to be down at the present time.Anyone else having problems??

I am also having problems with the website. It has been down for the past few days. TKO211 works on the fan club, maybe he knows why its not working.

It's still not on any online retailers' websites that I've seen. Ebay's the only place. Luckily the price on those is coming down. A couple months ago, they were selling for over $100 sometimes. It seems they're down to the $60s now.

As an aside, I wouldn't pay more than regular retail price for one. It's a cool-looking plane, no doubt, but not worth more than what you would pay for anything else. I'm sure eventually they'll be priced in the $40-$50 range.

Problems with the 21c site - see the thread about it!

While I was in Fresno, Ca. over Christmas there were some nightfighter 109s and I though I saw one in Fresno again about ten days ago. Now that I'm back in LA at school, I can't really say for the So Cal area. Are they out at small retailers? Seems to me that I thought they might be...

No - remember the Nightfighters went only to WM except the couple of hundred that ToyFed got (and sold). And yes, it is a "west coast" plane in terms of distribution. It was worth another ten bucks to me because it's cool and I wanted it - what other reason is there to pay a premium? As said though don't go crazy - they can be had for about 50-55 now on ebay. When you see $100 sales it's usually international

Found a few around Memphis TN a few months ago, but didn't see any on my last trip there (and I did extensive looking). I'm sure there are still a bunch left on shelves in little off-the-beaten-path wm's.
