For you guys who are getting tons of grief from your wives about spending big bucks at Monkeydepot, remember Tom Arnold's line in TRUE LIES, "Women. Can't live with 'em. Can't kill 'em."
Tell your wives you are actually SAVING big bucks when you compare how much your 1/18 models are selling for at Badcat:

1. Panther--$100
2. 88 gun--$130
3. ME-262 nightfighter--$90
4. Stuka--$75
5. Avenger--$90
6. P-51--$71
7. MiG-15--$71
8. F-86 Huff--$125

Guess we can call it our MONKEY DEPOT COUPON book of savings!
Just like some of them might use at the store.
Thanks-Dragon.

I figure I've got about two weeks before the credit card bill comes. Then the suffering will begin.

Thankfully I was able to contain myself to 3 jets that I have wanted for a long time. All bought with cash on hand. I can't afford to swipe the card with the threat of Sprint laying off my wife and I in the next few weeks. I just don't think the daughter would find plastic very tasty if we can't afford syrup next month.

Just do something very special on Valentine's Day. Make her a romantic dinner. Stuff like that.

And fer Christ's sakes, hide the CC statements! Tell her you paid them already!

The downside: you need to be ready to ante up those savings in the form of gold, diamonds, chocolate, flowers, etc. So you didn't really save $100 on the 88, you just converted $100 of the cost into gifts for her so you can buy her silence and maintain world peace.

I just tell her I'm selling some of my very valuable exclusive issue XD items so we are really not out any money.

I show her the XD items on eBay with crazy prices as proof of my sincere efforts, like the Panzer IV that has been on eBay for $150 (for months). I say...."See, I can sell mine for $150, just as soon as I get around to putting mine on eBay"....... funny, I just never get around to it.

My g/f does not mind buying vehicles for me but she won't buy figures, she says they are childish but at least she loves buying vehicles & military books for me.

Reminds me of a line from the old Newhart show. I'm talking about the one where Bob Newhart owned an Inn in Vermont. There were three quirky backwoods brothers named Larry, Darryl and Darryl. Larry was smitten with a woman and when it didn't work out he said "Women. Can't live with 'em. Can't stuff 'em in a sack.". That was one funny show.

Stug45, my wife is the same way. She doesn't mind the tanks, she likes the planes and she buys Transformers, but only the <$100 Masterpiece kind. The 25th Joes completely baffle and frustrate her. I would poke fun and say I'm going to go play dress up woth my dolls when I was outfitting them with gear and weapons. I recently got rid of all figures that do not fit in a vehicle and she is very pleased. Not a bad compromise in my eyes. I must admit I was embarrassed by them too and would hide them before company arrived. It's nice not listening to frequent nagging and not having to redo the setup every time parents or friends drop by.

I told my fiancee' about the Monkey Depot sale and she said I should buy as a couple of hundred dollars worth as an investment. Who am I to argue?
