Admiral 1/18 Skyraider ready after SBD

Post by Buckyroo » Tue Feb 10, 2009 2:45 am

I knew there was some talk a few years ago, but the Skyraider is in the works according to Jason. The link indicates that it will be out after the SBD. Enjoy.

I was undecided about the Skyraider for the longest time, but when I eventually see a preorder, I think I'll go for it. Yes, it will probably be costly, but it may be one of the few 1:18 aircraft we see for a while and Admiral always does a great job.

I've still got the Dauntless on preorder at MTS. Hopefully they will honor the 2007 (or was it 2006?) price

I am happy to see some information flowing from one of the 1/18 guys. Gives me some hope for new and better things to come. I think it will be good to have some time in between releases because the era of Wal-Mart priced 1/18 is coming to a close. Don't take that as a complaint. It's just like the mortgage situation- we are in a correction swing in supply and cost. I won't mind paying more for new items with the detail that we are seeing and have come to desire.

I personally don't think that 21st is gone entirely, but if they get out of the 1/18 market I wonder if they would sell the rights to their 1/18 items. interesting thought. :?:

Yeah, that's a great looking plane with all that ordnance hanging off the bottom. But, I gotta have that SBD too. 8)
