Final (??) word on Napier

Heard back from Lt Taylor:
"Mr. ----,
I checked with our evidence technicians today, and learned that Mr. Napier came in to pick up all the unclaimed items over a week ago (a couple days after the items were sorted). As such, it is too late to return your items to you. The only recourse at this point would to be to file a new case, and hope that a warrant would be issued. I would doubt that the Prosecutor’s Office would sign off on another search warrant for the same items we had seized two years ago.
Should you have any questions, please let me know.
Lt. Chris Taylor"
It's interesting that Napier picked everything up so quickly. If I had been in a similar situation I'd be too ashamed to show myself anywhere near police HQ again. Maybe he couldn't stand to be seperated from his 'precious'.
I sent Lt Taylor a note that I understand and thanks again for his work.
I wonder if this will be the last we hear of Napier?
