Picked up 2, thanks for the heads up Rylau.
This has to be a sign that 21st is done.

The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it, as long as you really believe 100 percent.

Caesarbc saw into the future

caesarbc wrote:Yeah, I guess Digger is right. It's not good when we see their 2nd to last armor release (the Eastern Camo Panther) going for $29.99 at MD. I wonder if we will see the 88 soon at $29.99 also?

21C over
MD's proximity may have a lot to do with it. If they are buying huge Avengers and Panthers at $10-15, it doesn't pay to ship them all over the country.aferguson wrote:why is just monkey depot doing this? If it's a core dump by 21c, how come no other retailers are in on it?

WOW
At that price picked one up also. I had no plans of getting one because of the high price. But at $30.00 how can I say no?
But as others have said looks bad for 21st Even last time they had troubles you did not see prices like this. But Monkey Depot had said they were just cleaning house.Maybe they have a agreement with 21st not to disclose whats really up?

Could not think of anything to put here.
i didn't realize MD was so close to 21c.....that explains a lot.
I hope we're not witnessing (and participating in) the final death throws of 21c. Up til now i wasn't too concerned as it was mostly older items they were blowing out. But to see the 88 now...
I figure wholesale on the 88 is around $55, so 21c's cost is probaly $30-$35, so they're selling them to MD for maybe $20? MD makes $10??
Whatever, this doesn't look good. Why didn't 21c just sell all this stuff themselves? The would make a lot more money (about 50% more) and i suspect what staff is left has time on their hands and could be doing the shipping.
I think we need a prayer vigil for 21st Century Toys.

xd sale
I read on another forum that 21st is dumping everything at their warehouse for pennies on the dollar. So it makes sense for the Monkey Depot to buy up stuff so they would not have to incur shipping costs.

Geeze, I am one meeting today and all XD heck breaks loose!
I asked MD in an email yesterday about the reason for their massive sales on 21st C product. They said that it was just a "inventory clearance" to open up space in their warehouse.
"Thank you for your inquiry. As far as I know, 21C is fine, but I don't have any
inside information. Although not a focus of ours, we have carried all of their
lines including the 1/18 for years. We are just looking to clear out some
inventory for a limited time to free up some space as we have several storage
places that we need to get freed up."

Thanks for the heads up

Hi everybody :
Rylau... Thanks for the heads up, I already purchased a 88 at $ 75.00 as a pre-order before plus $35.00 shipping overseas. There is no way I can pass this on. I already got another one plus a halftrack . I congratule MD because of their open policies to sell their items overseas.

This situation seems to be getting worse. I was trying to stay optimistic about 21st but the 88mm at such a blowout price tips the scales for me. Hopefully 21st is just in a pinch for $$$ and not shutting up shop.
Will any other etailers ever purchase from 21st again anyway after watching the company liquidate some of its most recent releases? I'm guessing 21st sales everywhere else have come to a standstill.
This may be the last best opportunity to get the 88mm. I was holding out for gray but I don't think that one's coming.

Well, I grabbed 2 88's - I was on the fence for one at $90+, but for this price, one will be DAK and one will be grey....
I am just hoping I don't get a note saying they are sold out - I ordered my panthers on Tuesday and still haven't received a shipment notification yet.
