I was trying to track down a US distributor or importer for that 1/18 RC Panzer IV and the alibaba site came up on some google search I made and somehow I found the above link. I'm pretty clueless about modern armor but was thinking it may be some type of LAV prototype or something.

Centone:

The tank you found looks like a version of the Chinese Type 63A Amphibious Tank. The latest Chinese copy of the Ruskie PT-76 Amphibious Tank.

Yeah, it being some type of Chinese armor makes sense but I'm not sure it's related to the 63a since it's wheeled instead of tracked. There's about a billion things that look almost identical (to this and to eachother) but most seem to be 8x8 and this looks like a 6x6.

It likely doesn't matter as we'll never see it over here on the shelf. It is cool to see something unexpected in 1/18 scale though.

:D

on a unrelated note, I did a google image search for type 63 and found this creep-out pic...

the new pte chinese ifv is 6 wheeled too, so it likely represents the same vehicle. I can't remember the designation for it but i believe it's a chinese copy of a french design...

That is a pretty creepy pic! I almost vomited when I saw it:) I think we can order that tank but we'd have to get like 300 units and I still dont see a price anywhere.

There are Chinese 6x6 armored cars. I found many pics, even some with cannons in turrets like the one in Centone's pic, but the gun in the Centone pic seems to me to be a long barrel 30mm, not the 105mm mostly shown in the turrets, which are large turrets to accommodate the 105mm gun, rather than the skinny turret in the Centone pic.

I haven't seen a Chinese small barrel gun in a turret, yet.... Nice find Centone...... maybe we can start a new forum for modern armored vehicles....... just kidding..

So if we could get 100 peeps to get in on this, it looks like the price will be 29-39 bucks each, I wonder how much to ship?
We'd have to get them shipped to a central location then shipped individually to members. Probably another 15-20 bucks so that makes em about 60 bucks each.
I think maybe Ill wait for the PTE Chinese AFV
