NEVER buy a NON-Smoke and Sound tank. The cheaper ones will die on you quickly.
EDIT: Heng Longs aren't exactly what you will call, low-maintenance, or well-built. There's a reason why they are cheap. Fortunately, spare parts are also cheap and readily available.

Here is an ebay auction if you are interested in a T34. Best price I have found anywhere for a T34. Bought one and very pleased with them.

The price range between dealers is amzing on the RC armor. Some dealers charge twice as much for the same tank. Be sure to shop around some.

Definitely. The price difference is very minimal anyway, and the few extra dollars spent are well worth it to get a S&S tank.

The H/L seem pretty hardy especially with the metal upgrades. Tend to be really basic though so a little paint, etc. really spruces them up. I'll try to post a picture of my H/L stug .

That is a really nice Stug. I have finally finished all the internal mods and can begin the external detailing. It is a bit hard to paint when it's 17 degrees out and your tank is covered in snow.

One hell of a airshow you have there. Now that Asiatam is selling Bulldogs, I'm hoping they will make a full metal suspension kit for it. I'd kill for some metal roadwheels with rubber. RCCommand now carries the full kit for the PIII's and Stugs if you are interested. I'm buying a set for my Bradley project.

Thanks! Kind of put the tanks and planes on hold for a while until hopefully the 1/18 hobby picks up. 1/18 has always been my favorite. I'm buliding a 1/35 Dora railgun which is just taking forever so hopefully when I am done 21st will have the B-25 out, Admiral will be shipping the F-4 and Pegasus will have the V-2. Doesn't hurt to dream.

Basic's ok by me, but man painted up those look insane.
Do they sell any of these tanks sans electronics, so you could just get a base model to display or maybe put an interior into even? I'd like to give that a go someday.

I have 4 RC 1/16 tanks and I think I have fired them up no more than 3or 4 times. I probably wouldn't even have used them hardly at all except my 6 year old thinks it's cool to drive them around.I prefer them as static.

Tamiya sells them as static model kits, but I think they still run in the $100's. Are you interested in a Panzer III?

Research Hooben. When they finish the T-55, they plan on doing a Brit tank. I forget which one, they all seem to start with c's.

Yeah, ultimately if I sell all my 1:18 off, I'll be buying any model/variant actually. I'm pretty much on the verge of selling my 1:18 tanks though. I've got most of the WW2 ones and just think it's time to change. Love 'em but I'm loving 1:16 tanks just that much more.
