well, since we cant count on 21c to release the PBR they've had for 7 years, i have a suggestion: at TRU i see a chap mei 'navy seal' boat. It looks to be about 20 inches long or so. I'm wondering if you could use the hull and deck of that and scratch build the rest. Would probably float too. I've never really looked at it closely so i don't know how suitable it would be but it has a sharp pointed bow, just like pbr's had.
Here's a picture of it:

It looks like this:

Aferg, I have had the same ideal about this boat. I did some research on the PBR Mark II- it was around 32 ft long and about 11 ft wide, so the 1/18 scale would be around 21" x 7" which this boat comes close to being.
Medic,
Just pull off all the extra "guns" on this thing and put in some twin .50's in the front, a .50 in the back with some M60's on the sides and you are ready to ROCK 'n ROLL. You could even get some of Pickelhaube's M60 gun shields for the sides.
Pickelhaube - how much for just the M60 shields?

here's another out of the box picture.....i think it would work very well as a pbr....it's a little sleeker looking but overall not bad.

Is that with or without the M60's?
Some of us have the M60's and some don't.
Let us know.

I tried making one a couple years ago.
I found a wooden boat at the Goodwill and thought it was close to scale. It's 18.5" long. It came with a thermometer and a barometer in it. I had to make the deck and wheelhouse out of foamboard and cardboard. It does float too.
Thanks, Kevin.

resurecting an old thread.
about the best use i've been able to come up with, for the True Heroes navy seal boat thingy, is a Royal Marines offshore raiding craft. Just strip the top deck off and use the hull. Almost exactly the right size.

If anyone has a better use i'd like to hear it.

Very nice to see other projects than aircrafts or tanks: there are so few boats here. I've found this excellent custom built with Goggle:

But there should be other models to be made with the GI Joe modell:

Or this one:

Or this one, perheaps?

All these originals, of course, have different sizes. I'll be glad to see some customs...
If you're interested, I've made (with an old bike tire and a half plastic box) a much smaller thing:

and at least this is my custom GI Joe River Patrol Boat (for pics, don't choose a river with too much current, I've lost 3 men):

There is another one, smaller in size that would probably better fit with the Joe's assault boat:

Hello Afferg,
Sorry, not exactly. The 2nd one should be a Navy Seal (Coastal) Mk. V Patrol Boat, look at
http://www.navyseal.com/redesigned_patrol_boat/. I couldn't find the other one anymore with goggle.
