Longbow radardome/ HumVee MG shields / Sherman funnies.
Hey guys I just had a long talk with Bird Dog he had some good ideas for customs.
Would anybody be interested in that doornob shaped radar dome on the top of a Longbow helo ?
http://www.army-technology.com/projects ... ache1.html
Also with the HumVees out in that large sand pit were Americans , Brits and other UN nations defending our freedom and are waging war against terrorism. They are using HumVees with .50cal shields somewhat akin to my M-113 shields. I could make them for the HumVee. Would anybody be interested in that?
Let me know.
If anybody else have ideas on customs or if they really want something custom made let me know so we can talk.
Matthew

Before Jack made his I was planning one. Then he scooped me. I guess he was the firstist with the mostist.
So is there only 4 guys who would be interested in the Longbow add on and 2 for the Humvee upgrade ?
I guess that is better than the response to the Cullin Device.
Hey Pickelhaube, what can you make with the M41? A M42 Duster would kick ass! Is that even possible or is that built on a M24 chassis? I can't remember. Side external storage racks for M113's and Bradleys would be awesome. That would bring out some realism of those vehicles being used in OIF. How about a kit to transform a M3 halftrack into a mortar carrier version. With your skill, the possibilities are endless. You and few others could continue the line that 21st started and then constantly dropped the ball on us. I'm sure that the board members could come up with other items that will have great interest.

Does the M-41 or M-42 have the same running gear as the M-48 ? Making the bogies and tracks are a little daunting. Mod kits are soooo much easier than making everything.billgiff wrote:Hey Pickelhaube, what can you make with the M41? A M42 Duster would kick ass! Fiero Dude made mention of the Crabb Flail. Aferguson made one that looked cool. That could be a good project as well as the huge mine rollers and a dozer blade. But these are on the large side. But they would be IMPRESSIVE in 1/18 scale. That dozer blade screams Pacific.
What about those funnies for the Shermy guys ?

Here's a link to a web page on the M42 Duster (uses an M41 Chasis):

I'd be interested in one as well.
The outside storage racks for the M113 sound cool too.

The gun bays are a good idea. 21st was going to do that on there last P-51 rendition but they did not do it. Those bay would be a hard sale. I could make a little drop in pod but I do not think that there would be a lot of guys brave enogh to start cutting plastic on there model. But just think how that would lookB-29 wrote:I'd be interested in detail kits. Engines and gun bays for a P-51 or P-40. Gun bays shouldn't be too hard. A late war corsair with 4 bladed prop and a radome would also be neat.

I posted a while ago about making a R-2800 engine and it looked like there was a fair amount of interest. I will have to go back and look up the post to see the response it has been a while.

Hi Matthew:
I would like a Longbow radome.
I would also like a fuel probe for my Pave-Hawk as well.
I am dreaming now but....
How about offering a EAM B-17 kit that is completely finished. I believe the scale is about 1:17.8 almost a perfect 1:18.

One hundred and fifty three - 1:18 scale aircraft on the ceiling looks  damn good!
