Latest rumor is of a new suprise 1/6 RC from 21C. Can it be the 21C Panzer to go against our Stuarts?

Be still my heart or is it just April fools day?? Yea, just go ahead and fool the old codger, not bothering anyone, just sitting in his bunker playing with his toys and dollies and rearranging his piles of munitions. Yea, go ahead, upset him.

It's going to be a Hummer isn't it? I think 21c is dead set against doing anymore 1/6 tanks.

Yes 1/9 is the new scale YUK :(
" we want to create our own scale" how lame we already have 1/8 scale they could have done that size.

Fox:

Come on, are you kidding. Is 21C going into a new scale; 1/9???

Do we now start from scratch? Is anybody making figures or vehicles in this 1/9?

I might have to limit my endless buying of 1/18 and 1/6 toys and go full circle back to 1/1 toys.

TankD:

I heard about the 1/9 Abrams but I was curious whether we know if 21C is going to add vehicles and figures in 1/9 and whether anyone else makes 1/9 stuff. More stuff to flatten our wallets.

I need sale stuff, and new vehicles in new scales don't go on sale unless they flop. I even had my wife tag along today and help me carry TRU sale stuff. The magic word SALE, is like catnip to my city gal, even if we're buying toys....military toys. She even grabbed some kid to get a ladder for top shelf stuff while I'm busy at the price checker with other treasures. She even ran interference for me in the new Star Wars aisle. That's team work. :D

TTT,sorry about that,I didn't read the thread properly;as if news of a new product would have gotten past you :) .Perhaps the reason for a 1/9th scale Abrams is to due to the 'box size' issue. A scary thought is that if 21st Cent produced some of the bombers we all would like, they might reduce the scale from 1/18th to 1/24 or whatever fits in the current 1/18th aircraft boxes.
Anyway,I'll bet that when the Abrams does come out, you'll have a field day picking them up on discount;what a great wife you have!

1/9

I think the reason is for accuracy. The vehicle is aimed at the 1/6 market but to call it 1/6th wouldn't be true - it would not be "true to scale," a problem I suspect the M2 had, although I don't know. This way they can release a vehicle of familiar size and still claim scale accuracy (even though that scale is sort of random....). In other words, no use calling it 1/6th if it isn't.

It's true, the Bradley was not 1:6 scale! Not even close...I had bought one to build an interior , but after seeing how off the scale was, I sold it. I'm sure they got a lot of negative feedback on the scale...so now they are shooting for accuracy. Don't call it 1/6th if it's 1/9th! Half of this board will call you a liar in a New York Minute!

I wonder how the M1 will run. Will it perform just like the Stuart...same parts used? The Bradley is 1/8 or 9 scale. I managed to get $375 U.S. for mine on ebay about a month ago. It's one of the harder to find of the Ultimate Soldier 1/6 line. Many were broken/damaged in route to retailers due to improper packing.
