Foxholetoys says the FOV 1/18 Stryker will be released the first quarter, 2009:

Those numbers look awfully familiar:

Looking at the promo pic for the 1/18 Stryker, it has been suspected that it's the 1/32 version they are showing. The detail is better than FOV has historically shown on their 1/18 vehicles--a bit of logic I really don't understand. Seems like it would be easier to include more detail on a LARGER piece than a smaller one, but hey, maybe the detail elves can't reach that high. But it's nice to see the 1/32 version out, which means (hopefully) the 1/18 WILL show 1st quarter!

The 1/32 version looks like the other 1/18 versions. Everything is molded shut with rounded corners. It will be an impressive piece in 1/18, but leaves much to be desired in it's current 1/32 form. I don't think it helps that my mouse weighs more than my Stryker. The back door better open on the 1/18th!

They could have included the shovel head.

Interesting... I think that answers my question in the other thread, about this being a new Target exclusive line (adding 1/32 to the Bravo Team line), with different detail and material standards. So the original 1/32 Stryker probably WAS canceled and replaced with a Bravo Team version, with reduced details and apparently all plastic instead of plastic and die-cast.

You might be correct. IF it was diecast AND it had ANY paint and ANY weathering, the level of detail would be acceptable. 21st Century's move to plastic was tolerable because the detail was so crisp, like the hex bolts on the Panzer III. The bolts on the Stryker are 3 layered round nubs, worse than the diecast Bradley. It is a cheap toy, the front wheels have no steering. But I'm estatic to see a Stryker and will try my best to overlook the shortcuts taken. The 1/18th version better have steering and passenger compartment in the rear. I never realized how large the Stryker is. I thought it was similiar to the LAV, but it is actually the length of the Abrams. Can't wait to get home and compare to all my vehicles in the morning. 1/18th is going to be massive!

Gald to hear that this vehicle will be a reality someday after I thought it was dead in the water. I will surely get one no matter how much detail is lacking.

I hope the 1:18 Stryker will be a reality as well. What worries me is that the 1:18 Bravo Team Stryker was really the 1:32 version, just mislabeled. I'll still keep my hopes up, though
