I know 21C intends to release the plastic XD M-48 in a desert camo pattern as a tie-in to "Sahara", but the good folks at The Motor Pool (www.themotorpool.bigstep.com) say on their website that 21C is going to bring out the XD M-48 in olive drab diecast metal!
At least I think I'm not misconstruing what they're saying. See for yourselves!

do we know for sure that the sahara version is not diecast as well?
