Regardless of the "truth", Wal-Mart doesn't necessarilly do a nationwide price cut. It does happen sometimes, but really it's a rarity. So maybe a WM does have $2.50 IJ figures, but that doesn't mean EVERY WM has $2.50 figures unfortunately.

Myself, I'd love to get some custom fodder cheap, but I'm not jumping into a toy run looking either.

I also heard that after Christmas Walmart was gonna knock 40% GI Joe as well.

I remember a couple Christmases back they did the 2.50 thing on Star Wars, at least locally.

Coming back to IJ, even if they clearanced them out at a buck there wouldn't be anything worth buying, just the same Crystal Skull crap that's been here since the summer.

I remember seeing McFarlane figures at a WM a few years ago for $2.88. I bought some and then went to another WM to see if I could get some more. They had them in the clearance section but they were $5.88. I asked one of the store employees that worked that section what the deal was with the price difference. She said that clearance prices were up to each store manager. I believe that there are some guidelines though with certain items concerning clearance prices. At every WM where I've seen the 21C 1/6 weapon sets clearanced they were priced at $3. In some cases they started at $4 and if they didn't sell out in a reasonable time they were lowered to $3. When that's happened it seems to have happened at every WM I've been to that still had them in stock.

I will have to check

Post by dandaman » Thu Dec 25, 2008 8:45 am

I will have to check to see if this $2.50 sale is in effect with all WalMarts in the area. Since WalMart is closed today, I can't do that now. Maybe on the 26th or 27th.

All they had left were Belloqs and Cairo Swordsmen. And they were specifically marked "clearance".

Yes, Jesse you are right on the store to store clearance.
Cranedriver and I were referring to another thread where dandaman was playing with us as he told us something was on sale

Everybody keep an eye out for Indy figs on sale and shout out.
If you can get some to trade, I am always looking for some more of these.

Canada, of all places, currently has a pretty nation-wide clearance going on of IJ stuff ironically. I mentioned it in the IJ thread where it made most sense incase Aferg or one of the other canucks wanted to score some $5 vehicles. A buddy got me 2 German cars and some TOD figures actually, all on clearance, so go figure.

After Christmas Sales

Post by dandaman » Thu Dec 25, 2008 7:27 pm

I have been reading articles on how bad Christmas sales have been. There was mention of after Christmas sales (specifically WalMart and KMart) where prices on TOYS will be even further slashed!

$1.00 or 50 cents for an IJ figure? Is it possible?!?

Needless to say, I will be up in the AM scouring the various stores in my area.

It's going to be awesome.

Well, my local WM has the Indiana Jones figures NOT on clearance at $6.84, so they obviously didn't get the memo. However, the 5 inch Halo figures (or whatever size they are are on clearance for $7 each. Now if only the King Tigers and 88's would go on clearance, now that the holidays are over...

Just messing with ya... they don't even put the Platoon figures on clearance!

Price ranges for IJ figures

Post by dandaman » Fri Dec 26, 2008 4:37 pm

I've been to a couple local WalMarts and the prices have been ranging from $2.50 to $3.00 a piece.

Not bad. I've been able to complete my set (which I wasn't willing to do at $5.44 or $6.94 a figure) as well as pick up several more Russians.

It's good to see there are plenty of Dovchenkos still on the pegs. When they hit $1.00 a piece I'm buying them all out.

Did I mention...

Post by dandaman » Fri Dec 26, 2008 5:24 pm

Did I mention that IJ deluxe packs are $7.00 each?

That's right, Cairo thug 2-packs and German motorcycles are only $7.00 each. Nice.

Went to several NW Houston WM and they were $3. I got several leather-jacket Mutts for 1/18 diecast dioramas. With a little paint, he will look just like Arnie from the movie "Christine".

You may want to check T J Maxx and Marshalls. Was out with the wife and daughter today. Marshalls had the Last Crusade figs for $3.99 and Deluxe figs for $6.99.

Every WM (in NW Houston) I have gone to has had them for $3. $7 fo the dual/deluxe packs and $13 for the vehicles. I have only seen the jungle cutter.
I have not seen many German soldiers, so dome one must be rounding them up.

No sales here yet, though $5 Indy figures at K-Mart of all places. Go figure, eh? WM's full price thus far.

There are quite a few of the Russian IJ figs still lurking around at some of my local WM's.
