German Cargo truck

I picked up a metal 1/16 truck by "Gearbox Collectibles" on eBay. The truck is sold as a "1930's Shell Delivery truck".

Does not look bad, it is metal with rubber tires, cargo back loaded with 50 gal drums labeled gas, oil, lubricants. Detail is rough, crude, but with a little paint (now it is orange and yellow with the Shell logo on the side)and dremel cutting open the doors it is a very passable German fuel truck.

Scale is not bad to go along with our 1/18 stuff, considering it is susposed to be a heavy duty fuel truck.

I'll post pictures of what it looks like as is tomorrow and then as soon as I find the time to customize it, I post pics.

Pic posted under "New toys" on my Webshots. With a little work it should be a usable German fuel truck.

We shall see.

It says "White" on the radiator so what I have is a crude model of a White stake body truck about 1 1/2 tons, from 1930.

Could be taken for a Russian or German truck. Keep in mind that Henry Ford had a truck plant in Germany operating through most of WW2 so German trucks similar to ours were possible.

My plate is currently filled so it will be a while before I get to this truck and see what I can turn it into.
